COMMON OF PLOUGUERNEAU:
Plouguerneau is a coastal town located in the heart of the Pays des Abers, 25km north-west of Brest. Because of its extreme geographical location and its exceptional religious heritage, this town alone deserves several days of discovery. Starting from its sentry, the lighthouse of the Virgin Island (the highest lighthouse of Europe in stone) you can discover while walking by the coastal path (GR34) its varied landscapes, its steep coasts, its islands, its coves, its white sand beaches, its chapels,
a multitude of crosses and even a silted church (iliz coz) as well as the bridge of the devil and the museum of seaweeds.
The town has about 45kms of coastline. The nautical activities are very varied:
- beaches
- peach
- sea trips
- sailing (his nautical club offers internships)
- diving (excursions proposed by his club)
From the top of the lighthouse of the Virgin Island, you can discover an unforgettable panorama, but beware! you will have to climb about 360 steps!
Nearby, in Kerlouan, the small village of Ménéham is a must.
Aber wrac'h has many restaurants, bars and of course the lively marina.
In Brest, the visit of Océanopolis is worth a visit, one can also discover the castle of Brest, the museum of the Navy, the Tanguy tower as well as the marina of the white mill.
