Lovely villa with fantastic views
The villa was exactly as pictured in the numerous photos on the web site. It was very clean on arrival, and cleaned every 5 days with fresh bed linen and towels. The villa is very well equipped, including all the kitchen / washing / cleaning basics that are often not provided in other villas. The owner Mary was lovely and very helpful. She provided a nice range of essential food products upon arrival, together with some non-essential cake, chocolate and wine!
The bedrooms are a reasonable size, and there is plenty of storage space in each of them for clothes. Each bedroom has its own en-suite bathroom with shower, toilet and sink. The downside of this is the fact that they are consequently small, particularly the shower cubicles. There is a very large bathroom in the basement with a jacuzzi style bath, but no shower.
The villa is in a very quiet and private position, with fantastic views of both the sea and the mountains (still snow capped when we were there). It is close to all the beach resorts of that part of Crete, and Chania is a very easy drive away (about 15 mins in low season).
There is fast wifi (about 15 mbps) which is still not that common in a lot of properties. The TVs are standard flatscreen with the usual international selection of satellite TV stations. If you want any kind of smart TV functionality you should bring your own streaming box and connect it in via the wifi. This worked really well for us on wet days, with Netflix saving both us and the children!
Don't let the lack of reviews on HomeAway put you off booking this villa. It can be booked through lots of different web sites, each with their own review system. The villa seems to be consistently booked in the peak season, and we saw a visitor book with at least 50 positive entries in it over the last 6 years.
In summary, we were very happy with this villa and would not hesitate to stay there again.
