Come and spend some time on the beautiful Central Coast of California. Bring your family and friends with you to 'Cookie's Cottage'. Make yourself at home in this newly remodeled, 1 story, 3 bedroom, 2 bath home. This house is set up for your family to relax and spend time together. There's a comfortable living room to hang out in and take naps. Patio deck outside to enjoy the bar barbeque, ocean, and sunshine. The house has new maple floors, ceiling fans, new stamped concrete deck in front yard, trex wood deck in backyard, 2 HD TVs, and cool looking brick floor in the kitchen.

Enjoy a walk down the street to the beach with the kids. Bike ride to Dinosaur Park. Go kayaking, shore fishing, hiking, restaurants, farmers market, and never need to drive anywhere. Drive a few minutes if you like to shop at the outlets, movies, antique shops, surfing, sport fishing, tennis, swap meets, art galleries, and farmers markets at Avila Beach and San Louis Obispo. The backyard is gated and fenced with table and chairs. Front deck has chairs to kick back and relax. The barbeque has wheels so you could cook in the front deck or back yard patio.

Cute, Cozy, Clean
We’ve loved our stay at this Shell Beach home. Upon arrival, the house was well stocked with all we needed to begin our extended stay. The king size bed and the queen size beds both have mattress toppers that will guarantee you sleep like a baby. The house has two bathrooms and the hall bath has a huge walk-in shower with terrific water pressure. The water heater is on-demand. The neighborhood is very quiet, yet close to several restaurants within walking distance. A park is 1/2 block away and is the perfect place to walk our dog and enjoy the sunset, with a glass of wine. On some evenings, you might find local musicians giving impromptu performances. It’s been a wonderful stay and is such an incredible value. I would highly recommend this property!

Perfect Cottage by the Sea
Cookies Cottage was the perfect beach getaway for our family of 4 and our sweet dog. You can see the ocean from the front porch. One of the coveted spots in our family was sitting in the widow seat of the cottage with the windows open and feeling the ocean breeze. The house was spotless and the communication with the owners was flawless. The kitchen had all of the necessary utensils, place settings for at least 6, cookware, basic spices and tea. The rental did not include boogie boards, beach chairs and toys, so you’ll need to provide your own. However, it is about $100 a night cheaper than other comparable properties; which for our family makes the difference between having a week long family vacation or just a weekend getaway. Thank you Steve and Jessica for your hospitality!!

Home has a strange layout, kitchen very cramped for dining space.
Overall not too bad, master bedroom and bath very nice, but other bedrooms lacking any charm. Also not very pleased that we were accused of having a dog which is totally false.

We miss Cookie's Cottage
The best street in Shell beach and Cookie's Cottage was just right for us and our Golden Retriever. The rooms were unexpectedly spacious and tastefully decorated. Cute kitchen with everything one would need. And the best part was the two minute walk to the water each day. We stayed for a month and the neighbors were quiet and friendly. We wish we could have stayed forever. We had a need to stay longer and couldn't stay at Cookie's because it was already rented. We looked for other places and couldn't find anything as nice or as reasonably priced - we definitely got spoiled here. Cookie's Cottage sets the bar high.

Loved the location had the BEST time ❤️ ☀️ 🌊
We had the most wonderful time with my family. It was so comfortable, liike being at home, but more beautiful. The house is tastefully decorated with vintage nautical. We enjoyed walking to the beautiful beach, the farmers market and the swap meet. My family created such beautiful memories and I cannot wait to return. Owners were so responsive.

Great property and location with excellent, accessible owners
Before we arrived working through the booking process was easy and the owners were very responsive and helpful. The property is well kept and very well set up. We were a group of 6 and everyone had a great time. The kitchen is very workable and well equipped. The location is great, being just down the road from a good dog-friendly park, a small beach for walking and a few decent restaurants. The area is great for doing a quick run and you're only about 2.5 miles from downtown Pismo and the relaxing beaches there.

Sept. 2015 I've stayed in the Cottage in 3 different yrs., for a month at a time. I keep coming back because of the super location, 1/2 block to a beautiful coastal park, easy access to all other points of interest & restaurants on the Central Coast. The Cottage is neat, clean & offers all you need for a comfortable stay. What they advertise is what you get. In my last stay, I left some items & they returned them to me within days. Before, after & during your stay, the owner is easy to access & quick to respond.

Wonderful Beach House
My husband and I and our dog have stayed at Cookie's Cottage for a month, both in 2014 and again July, 2015. We returned because we so enjoyed the beach house and the wonderful neighborhood in which it is located. The home is cozy, comfortable, and well equipped for a long stay. The new patio on the front of the house makes for a great gathering area to enjoy the cool breezes and views to the water. Within walking distance is a community park where people gather to watch the evening sunsets and several restaurants including Zorros and Shell Beach Brewhouse, our favorites. There are so many things to do in this area; Edna Valley and Paso Robles for wine tasting, San Luis Obispo for the Thursday Farmers Market, Avila Beach for the dog beach, Port of San Luis Pier for wildlife viewing, Morro Bay for kayaking, beach combing and bird watching. The Bob Jones Trail, Johnson's Ranch, and Montana de Oro Park have wonderful hiking trails. The Central Coast is a beautiful place to visit, and Cookie's Cottage is the perfect place to stay! The owners of this property are very responsive and want your experience to be enjoyable. We are so thankful they have shared their home with us!

Perfect family vacation rental home!
Beautiful home in a beautiful area! Very clean, well stocked w/ kitchen supplies, linens, towels, free wifi, & close to the ocean! Close to shopping & hiking as well. Huge family room with gorgeous windows that our group of 8 fit in with plenty of room to spare! Very cute themes in every room! Cleaning people found $25 my son left on accident & owners called to ask us about it & then returned it to us with our security deposit. Can't wait to go back! Definitely recommend this place!

Vacation with Grandkids
My wife an I take our grand-kids on vacation every year and we try to find different, fun and suitable places to stay. This rental was perfect for us. It is very centrally located to Pismo and Avila and all the attractions. The girls had their own bedroom and the boys as well. The Master bedroom was large and the bed is very comfortable. Front room was a great place to relax after a long day; comfortable chairs and TV, etc. Of all the places we have rented, this cottage was the best equipped- especially the kitchen. Internet hookup was a pleasant surprise. The place is very homey and well decorated. The owners were great and provided some tips on where to bring the kids. It is a short walk to the ocean cliffs and the view reminds me of Santa Cruz overlooking the ocean. Locally there are plenty of places to eat and drink for those who want to stick to Shell Beach. This one is on my return list!

cute cottage but negative experience with owner
I've never had to write a negative review before so it pains me to write this. The cottage is very cute with a fabulous location. Ideal for kayaking. We had a nice time relaxing and spending time with family. HOWEVER, the owner deducted money from our security deposit for damage (bleach stains on bed linens) that we were not responsible for. All attempts to resolve the issue with the owner were unsuccessful. The experience has left a very bad taste and I would not recommend this property to others.

Christmas Vacation
We had a wonderful time with our family for Christmas vacation. The house was immaculate and had everything we needed. The neighbors are wonderful. We were serenaded on Christmas Eve from a group, a Christmas card was left on the porch and we were invited to one of the neighbors restaurant for delicious pizza. Make sure you try Swacks for pizza and wings! We were able to watch the sunset every night from the porch. The owners are very conscientious and kind. Looking forward to another stay!

Serenity
I left the city life for two whole weeks for some peace and quiet rest and relaxing and I found it here in shell beach. This home was everything they said it was and very clean! Close to the beach 9 houses down and a great dog park overlooking the the most scenic view . The house had every amenity we needed the neighborhood was friendly . Very close to the shops and restaurants and 30 seconds from the beach . We had a fantastic time !

BEST PLACE TO STAY ON CENTRAL COAST!
My wife, our 2 small Coton de Tulear dogs, and I stayed in the cottage for 11 nights in January 2012 for a much needed vacation and enjoyed every minute of it. Living in a much larger home, we wondered how we would do in a 1000 sq/ft cottage for nearly 2 weeks. Let's put it this way. The minute we got back home to San Diego, we immediately put our own home up for rent and are now moving to a similar size cottage on the beach! That's how much we enjoyed this place. Before going on, let me also say that this is absolutely the most dog friendly area we have ever visited. Bring them if you have them. Arrival: From the minute we walked in the front door and saw the big bay window, the LARGE sofa sectional, and the 2 Tommy Bahama reclining chairs, we knew we made the right choice. From the kitchen to the bedrooms, the interior styling is definitely beachy and you really feel like you can relax and unwind, which we did. The other awesome thing about this place is the location. We walked our dogs to the beach and parks daily and met numerous locals who can only be described as genuinely kind and gracious. If you don't leave here wanting to return as soon as you can for another stay, then this is not the place for you. For us, it was absolutely perfect. TO DO: For the adventurers out there, this is also a perfect place to launch from for a variety of activities. Avila Beach is literally 5 minutes away and home of the Bob Jones Trail (AWESOME!) for walking, biking, etc. We also launched our inflatable boat from the Port San Luis dock and took a cruise down the coast several miles and back, seeing many sea otters and their newly born babies, which can only be described as the cutest things in the world next to my wife of course. For those who enjoy wine, we made the Paso Robles run 4X during our stay, a short 30 minute ride from the cottage to the Vineyard Drive turnoff. There are also multiple San Luis Obispo wineries even closer. HIGHLIGHTS: -Walking from cottage to Zorros Cafe for breakfast or lunch. -Early dinner at McClintocks Dining House and Saloonn Maddie Road about 3 minutes drive -Sunset cocktailsand apps at Steamers of Pismo. We actually saw the "green flash" here one night -Bob Jones Trail to Avila Beach and Port San Luis -Walking dogs on beach in front of cottage and at Dinosaur Caves Park -Check out Kelsey See Canyon winery in Avila and drink a glass with peacocks all around you. Very cool place and excellent wine. 5-10 minute drive away.

Relaxing Getaway
Myself, hubby, two daughters as well as my sister, brother-in-law and their two kids thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Cookie's Cottage. It was so nice walking down to the beach as well as riding our bikes in the beautiful neighborhood. The cottage was stocked with the essentials and very nicely decorated. The kids did not want to leave. Our four day stay was way too short. A excellent place to de-stress.

Family Get Away @ Cookies Cottage
We had a wonderful time at Cookies Cottage! The cottage is adorable and very comfortable! There was plenty of room for my kids, grandkids & our dog! The kitchen was fully stocked..if you needed "it", they had it! Nice backyard space to let the dog out or for my toddler grandson to go out and play with his cars. We took many walks to the dog park down the street and met so many nice people. Great neighborhood! We also enjoyed the Avila Dog Beach and met many nice "dog people" there.We just loved the cottage and can't wait to go back. This is a great place for families; kids,big & small; and dogs! :) Thank you so much.

Best Vacation I've ever had!
Our experience in this rental was great! This cottage is in a quaint neighborhood and was fully equipped as if it we were at home. We could either cook indoors or have a BBQ in the backyard. Every tool I needed to cook with was supplied(I even made a cake!) EVERYTHING was clean and was easy to keep that way. We loved that we could sit on the porch anytime and enjoy the ocean breeze. Short walks to beach, park, shops and dog park. It was a GREAT vacation month! We have recommended it to all our family and friends.

A Wonderful Month at Cookie's Cottage
My family and I spent a wonderful month at Cookie's Cottage in Shell Beach. This delightful beach house was immaculate, spacious and centrally located to enjoy the central coast. The house was fully equipped with everything you need. Shell Beach is a quiet, laid-back community close to a variety of amenities and just a short walk to the ocean and a little off-leash dog park where neighbours meet for coffee in the morning and wine at sunset! The central coast offers a wide variety of activities from dune buggying, surfing, and hiking to shopping, dining, and wine-tasting. The coast is pristine and undeveloped--orchards, farms, vineyards and charming beach communities along with spectacular scenery and wildlife make this a spectacular holiday destination. We would highly recommend this property and hope to revisit it next year.

Peaceful and Relaxing Stay!
We stayed at the cottage for one month with our 16-month old son. Shell Beach is a wonderful little neighborhood. It was incredibly quiet and we loved walking to the small shops and neighborhood parks. The cottage is simply lovely. We loved reading and napping in the window nook. The couch is the perfect place to curl up and watch a movie. The bed in the master bedroom was incredibly comfortable and we slept very well. Our son slept in the "fish" themed room and loved his cozy space. It was great to have a washer and dryer in the house as well for those occasional rainy days in December. The cute front porch has chairs for relaxing in the afternoon sunshine. This house was clean and well maintained. We really enjoyed our stay. I would recommend this property to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway! Things in the area that we enjoyed... *the farmer's market in SLO on Thursday evenings should not be missed. It is a quick 10 minute drive to downtown SLO. We loved doing our Christmas shopping in the fun shops and our son loved story hour at the library in downtown SLO. * Avila Beach is a great beach for kids. Water is tranquil and there is great sand and lots of sea shells to be found. Great park on the beach for kids as well. *The Bob Jones Bike/Jog Trail. I ran on this trail nearly every day. Gorgeous setting with the apple orchards! * Avila Farms... Nice produce and great Christmas trees! *Montana de Oro State Park...nearby in Los Osos. The hiking here is simply breathtaking. The park was empty in December and we enjoyed many gorgeous mornings on the trails! * Arroyo Grande Old Village...great coffee shops! * Children's Museum in SLO...perfect for a rainy day. Our son enjoyed several afternoons at this great museum in downtown SLO. All amenities are a quick walk or drive from the cottage. Grocery stores, Costco, outlet mall, etc.

The Quintessential Beach House
Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Cookie's Cottage this Thanksgiving season while visiting our son at Cal Poly. This is a modest, practical California beach house situated in the middle of a narrow, quiet neighborhood street amongst other small beach properties. It's a two minute walk to publicly accessible coastline, and just a two minute drive to Highway 101. Once on the highway, downtown SLO is minutes to the North or Pismo Beach and Arroyo Grande to the South. Here are some highlights about this property. - Owners were great to work with: easy, quick to respond, and reasonable - Very Clean - Fully equipped kitchen - Newer appliances, all in good working order - Fully stocked with linens, towels and necessities - Plenty of room - Quiet neighborhood - Adequate parking - REAL VALUE Upon Future returns we will be looking to rent this property again, and would definitely recommend it to our friends.

month of relaxation
We had a great time staying here for the month of July. Our two labs were with us and enjoyed their daily walks and sunning themselves, with us, on the porch. We had a few glitches (like running into the garage door!) and the owners were so gracious AND forgiving. Blessed to have spent some much time there... helped me settle into my new role as Mommy with my infant and spent some quality time with my mom and husband! PS we loved all of the cafes in walking distance!

Lovely vacation home
We were very pleased with this property-it's only half a block from the beach in a very nice, quiet neighborhood. The home was clean, spacious and had everything we needed. The kitchen is very nice, the master bedroom quite large and the maple floors are beautiful. We hope to return again next year!
