Unique colorful cabin with 360° Hill Country Views!

A vibrantly colorful getaway! Pets welcome! Located on a clifftop with private access to the riverbed below -- dry at the moment but ex excellent for birdwatching, hiking and rockhounding. The fabulous Hill Country views and stargazing from the decks are calming for the mind and stimulating to the imagination.

A darling front porch and cactus-garden-in-progress greet you at the front of this colorful house. Enter to a galley kitchen, a full bath, and a living/dining area that gives onto a back porch overlooking the riverbed. Walls full of beautiful stained glass windows and artwork give a vibrant feel to your stay. Upstairs are two bedrooms, each with a view; and a half bath (full bath is downstairs). A spacious area between the bedrooms offers a work space, and can accommodate an air mattress (provided). If you're feeling adventurous you can sleep up on the rooftop deck, which has the best view of all — 360 degrees and a sky full of stars.

Plenty of parking on this fully fenced property, 3/4 acre with cool rock formations. A deck out over the riverbed also provides a great spot for stargazing or sunbathing, or just enjoying a cold drink and the country atmosphere. The screened-in back porch offers a peaceful spot to enjoy your morning coffee, and there's an outdoor shower for a quick splurge on a hot day. Take a moment to say howdy to the donkey that lives across the road.

This is a peaceful country neighborhood, off the beaten path but only 11 miles from Bandera, with its many attractions: restaurants, shopping, Lake Medina, rodeo and gunfight reenactments in summer, and much more.

Feels secluded but conveniently located to so much
Great views, with many places to sit and watch the wildlife or the stars. Eclectic decor with lots of stained glass pieces. DVDs to watch if you're not interested in being outdoors. We enjoyed our time there. Ate in Pipe Creek, explored Bandera, and enjoyed browsing the nearby antique shops. The house has a secluded feel, but a Dollar General was conveniently close by when we realized we'd forgotten to pack a hair brush.

Excellent location
The location is excellent, the place is cozy, however a little run down. The living room hasn't been dusted in a while, the vacuum cleaner was missing parts, the toilet brush in the main bathroom was disgusting.

The ring of fire!
We came to Skywatch Playhouse to do just that…watch the sky! This is a perfect place to celestial events like the annular eclipse we just experienced. Plan to come back for meteor showers this winter. Book for April if it not taken already!

Wonderful experience
We had an awesome holiday with kids and our pet. The property was clean, beautiful decors anf provided a comfortable stay. The kitchen was fully equipped and enabled us to cook all our meals at home. Loved the decks and the views and the sky view at night. Overall, very happy and satisfied with our stay. Thank you!

Skywatcher's dream!
We knew it would be a full moon but we couldn't resist brining the telescope. We are so glad we did! The have an outside deck overlooking a wash and there is a trail you can take to the bottom. You can also setup on the roof! You do have some bright lights from the house next door but it's still a beautiful view. Ok the house...LOVED it! The charm is so worth it. All the neat features the house has & a screened in porch. Did I already tell you about the roof? You have access to the roof with benches, perfect for stargazing. We were in town for our son's birthday (UTSA). The home is 30 min from campus but the drive to & from makes you feel like you are in the mountains.

Wonderful Unique House
House was very clean. We were not at the house much due to the reason we were in town however the house is great for relaxing. Creek of course was dry due to the drought so will definitely book again when conditions are better. Love the uniqueness of the house - not your boring square house with no decor. Love the mix match furnishings and old pieces. Wish the place had fence on the back side to help prevent small kids or animals from falling off the cliff but that is the only concern I had. I will be back.

Amazing!
We were so happy with our stay! The views are indescribable, the wildlife is abundant and the host was so gracious. We will definitely return! So close to so many attractions in the San Antonio area and many nature parks and state parks. If you’re a bird watcher book NOW for the fall!
