The Lakeside Escape.

The spacious back deck, outfitted with outdoor furniture, provides Hil Country views over the treetops that's nothing short of spectacular!.

**Lake water levels are low and pictures may not represent current levels. Local water activities, and park access and boat ramp access are dependent on rain and lake water management**

Imagine yourself reclining in luxury on a high shaded deck, sipping coffee as you watch the colorful Hill Country sunrise. Now, imagine no more! That relaxing daydream meets reality in the Lakeside Escape, its 1,150-foot elevation offering an inspiring view of the Hill Country. This roomy vacation rental features great amenities, and puts you close to great Hill Country towns like Bandera, Pipe Creek, Helotes. Tarpley, and Lakehills, but in a quiet suburban setting where you can decompress.

This family-friendly Hill Country escape allows both kids and pets on the property, with plenty of outdoor space for everyone, humans and pets alike, to exercise, play, and let off some of that extra energy. It's located in a peaceful neighborhood; so peaceful, in fact, that it serves as a picturesque roost from which you can view local birds and wildlife that frequent the area.

Honestly, with the view you'll have from the back of the home, you'll hardly know you have any neighbors at all! The spacious and nicely-shaded back deck, outfitted with outdoor furniture, provides an elevated bird's eye view over the treetops that's nothing short of spectacular! This serene holiday hideaway also features a charcoal BBQ pit for grilling, and plenty of dedicated parking for your vehicles.

The living area ceiling is a marvel of both rustic and modern decor, with angled wooden beams, and this look is accented throughout this vacation home with handsome and golden natural grain paneling. Comfort is assured in this grand space, with central air and heat downstairs, and an efficient AC unit in the upstairs bedroom. Under its stately high ceilings, the living space is furnished with plush furniture, tables, Wifi, and Roku-ready cable TV, and even a fireplace for added character and warmth. The full kitchen is appointed with all the appliances, cooking ware, and utensils your culinary heart could desire, with dining tables that seat up to eight. Finally, there's a convenient washer and dryer on-site, too!

All told, there's sumptuous and comfy sleeping space here for up to six guests. The master suite includes a king-sized bed, and a full bath with a roomy tiled shower. The second bedroom features a queen-sized bed, and there's a full-sized futon couch in the living area that will accommodate two more people. A second full bath includes a shower and tub combo, and fresh and clean linens are provided for all bed and bath areas.

We had a really lovely time at the cottage. Very relaxing. Perfect covered porch "in the trees" for bird watching! We weren't there for water activities so the low lake level wasn't a concern for us. House was just right--not too big and not too small-- for the two of us. No yard for children to play in but, again, not a concern for us as we had no children. The driveway was a bit tight but it did work. We would rent this house again.....

Lakehills Retreat
Property was clean and beds were comfortable. It's unfortunate that the lake levels are so low because of the drought that there is no water view from the beautiful windows all along the back. None the less we sat out on the back patio and watched the deer come up. It was relaxing and peaceful. Would stay again!

Great quiet weekend getaway
Nice location. Great setup. Faraway enough to be away from the city hustle but close enough to enjoy the amenities and visit family.

The stay was comfortable
The stay was comfortable but the living room light and fan did not work the whole time we were there. The housekeeper came and checked it but determined that the whole unit had to be replaced due to a short circuit but they could not do it while we were there. We had to be mostly in the dark during the night with just a standing lamp and a wall light which were not enough. It’s a nice house and we enjoyed feeding the deer that visited us in the backyard.

Natures Paradise
Our experience with this property was an all-round 5 ⭐️‘s. GPS is a must to find this location for using a map while driving through the many turns could cause one to get lost. We found our way perfectly with the GPS. The neighborhood was very welcoming and the scenery turned out to be incredible! Even though the host left a few bags of complimentary corn for the 30 plus deer hanging around, we couldn’t help ourselves but to buy a 40 lb bag later. The deer were so pleasant and so friendly. We we’re definitely their guest in their neighborhood. Getting in the front door was very simple using a code, that the whole family could use it. This property smelled of freshness and cleanliness. It had everything we needed to cook breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The ice maker in the freezer was very useful. The futon and couch were very comfortable places to sleep as well as the beds. Plenty of sheets, blanket, and towels, plenty! I want to say one of my favorite treats were the water softener that had been installed. It made showering a dream. The added window unit upstairs was nice but if it was turned down too low, it would kick off and on every 3 to 4 minutes continuously. Amazing closet space and super amazing bathrooms. It felt so romantic in one sense, and so family oriented in every other sense. Our plans were to float the Medina River and the Frio River, then hit the water park for a day. Unfortunately, the Medina River that was only 20 minutes away, turned out to be 50% walking. The Frio River was an hour away and 90% walking. We had a pretty rough start to our vacation but then finally drove the hour and 45 minutes the next day, to float the Comal River which turned out to be very relaxing! With that being said, the water park, River float, and Riverwalk were all approximately a 4hr round trip in which we made the last 2 days of our trip. The scenery, space, and comfort this property provided was well worth the money. The location for our families agenda made out to be an inconvenience. I just wanted to share this with you so that it helps with the decision of staying based on the activities your family may have planned. We definitely look forward to staying again when we go for boating, kayaking, and fishing!
