Discover your mountain log cabin getaway with room for everyone! This home is spread out over 3 floors with 5 bedrooms sleeping a total of 14. It is located on a private cul-de-sac in a gated community situated on the New River. Enjoy your own private pond with dock and gazebo, porches on 2 levels overlooking the water. Inside enjoy an open floor plan with a 2 story family room, open concept dining/kitchen with seating for 16. Wrap around porches provide a relaxing atmosphere to rest and recharge. The lower level provides a bunk room, second bedroom with King bed, bathroom and large family/game room with bunkbeds that opens onto lower level porches overlooking the pond. Master is on the main level with new mountain log King bed, private bath and covered porch access overlooking the pond. Upstairs discover 2 oversized King bedrooms with a twin bed and bathroom. Bring your fishing pole to fish in the pond, neighborhood hiking trails, 5 minutes from tube/kayak rentals. Easy driving distance to West Jefferson, Mt. Jefferson, New River state park, Grayson Highlands, and the Creeper trail. Welcome to Running Doe Lodge where you can experience: rest and relaxation, hiking, biking, tubing, kayaking, pond fishing, fly fishing, small town charm, shopping, wineries/breweries, and a great place to make memories.

Perfect for a family getaway
This cabin was absolutely perfect for the whole family, the kids loved fishing in the pond!! We really enjoyed having family game nights and had everything we needed to cook all our meals. I would definitely come back

Everyone loves this lodge.
My entire family was pleased with this lodge. It was spacious, beautifully appointed, well furnished and had a place and more for all of us to sleep. The basement was great for privacy for the kids to get away and for their parents to be close by for sleeping. We loved the decor too.

We really enjoyed our stay here. This cabin is very spacious and had even more beds than I thought! There were tons of towels and everything you needed in the kitchen. The porches wrap all the way around and it's just a lovely cabin. The owners are quick with communication. Great experience.

Second Annual Friends Weekend
Our group of 4 families stayed here for a long weekend for the second year in a row and this year was even better than the last. We had kids ranging from 1-7 and everyone had a blast. We love the outdoor space and the kitchen was suited perfectly to cook every meal in the house! See you next year, Piney Creek!

Great experience at Running Doe
The property was located in a wonderful neighborhood and was in perfect shape for a larger group to stay. We had 10 guests and had lots of space and the house had great immensities and the property keener provided lots of things to do. Very close to nice restaurant and not far from Grayson Highlands which is what brought our group in to visit. 5 stars across the board.

This property was absolutely beautiful, inside and out! The house was so clean, well designed, functional and enjoyable. The decks were so perfect for beautiful or rainy weather. The land and neighborhood was so nice. We took the kids for a walk at the pond and down the creek road. Perfect house for large family and kids!

Our Family Getaway to Celebrate a Birthday
We enjoyed our stay at Running Doe Lodge. The Lodge far exceeded our expectations with the cleanliness of the cabin, comfort of the beds, how well it has been maintained, and the attention to detail that the owners make to be sure the experience at their Lodge is the very best. Annual Mountain Trip
We’ve been coming to the Blue Ridge Mountains for years and this is one of the best cabins we have stayed in. Lots of sleeping areas and beds. Cabin was well stocked and had everything we needed. The neighborhood was beautiful and we enjoyed exploring outside. Game room with pool/ping pong table, foosball table and pac man game was a big hit. Thanks for a great stay! Wonderful home!
This is a wonderful, spacious home. It was very clean and exactly as it shows - in fact, it may be even a little better as pictures can’t capture the beautiful views. The home is well equipped and very clean. The fishing in the pond was fun and the game room gave fun evening activities. A great home for all ages. Thank you!

Best vacation rental yet! Clean upon arrival. Fully stocked kitchen. Just pack your bags and go to the mountains! The pictures do not do it justice. It was perfect for our new blended family to get to know each other.

Scenic Wilderness Escape: Serene & Nature-Rich
This place was amazing. It had enough rough for our extended family. The children enjoyed the game room tremendously. We loved the view and everyone having their own room. The place was beautiful for Christmas time. I would definitely recommend anyone looking for a place not located in town to pick this house. The WiFi was super helpful because we did not have great service with our phones, but that’s what a vacation is for to get away with minimal distractions. Wildlife was around every night and morning.

Great cabin!
Super cabin for 3-4 couples and kids. We had 3 couples and the cabin was great. Great layout, amenities and comfort. Plenty of large beds and sitting space. Beautiful meadow next to house to watch wildlife. Diner at the Corner Market nearby was very good. We rode down Creeper Trail one day and hiked up Mt Rogers the next day. Sat by fire in the evenings. Nearby Red Dog Bistro is closed on Monday and Tuesday, so the diner is only place nearby to eat. Well equipped kitchen at the cabin if you want to cook. We’ll be back!

FANTASTIC CABIN!! GREAT FOR FAMILIES
We had the most wonderful experience at this cabin! It has everything you could possibly imagine! All the bedrooms have very comfortable Beds and smart TVs. The game room is packed with games for the kids as well as a ping pong and fooseball table . The kids had a wonderful time exploring the property around the cabin especially in the snow! The kitchen is completely stocked with everything you’ll need! The family room is very comfortable to chill with the family complete with very comfortable couches and a very large smart TV. We had an absolutely wonderful time staying at this cabin and plan on coming again soon!!

Perfect Highlands Getaway!
Running Doe was an idyllic getaway with easy access to the Virginia Creeper Trail, Grayson Highlands State Park, and the New River! We were able to adventure to these places and also enjoyed the restaurant recommendations. Tana was a wonderful host and provided great communication. The property itself is in a fancy (gated) community with plenty of land and an opportunity to hike. We loved fishing in the pond, sipping coffee on the wrap-around porches, and finding the fairy homes on our walks! Our group included three families and we had the perfect layout with three master bedrooms for adults and the kids claiming the basement rooms and game room. The kitchen is probably the best stocked we’ve ever had at a rental. What a wonderful stay!
