Thanks Maria for a great stay! The house is beautiful, clean, and spacious. We had 2 adults and my three kids (15, 17, and 18). The upstairs master has 2 queen beds, the 2nd bedroom has two twins, and the 3rd bedroom has another queen. There's also a bed on a loft overlooking the living room which I used for reading and gazing out at the magnificent view! Kitchen was well appointed, washer/dryer were great with teens, and the basement had an air hockey table that got a ton of use. A few points that I haven't seen elsewhere:
1. Within 5min of the house is a general store which has most everything you will need. Check hours ahead of time, though...if closed, then the nearest shopping is at least half an hour away, maybe more, depending on what you need.
2. Restaurants within 5min: Condor Cafe, Lena's Mexican, Pine Mountain Pizza, the Perch, Bear Claw Bakery. Again, check the hours! Most aren't open on Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday for dinner, so plan accordingly. The bakery was awesome and they have made-to-order sandwiches which were great for lunch.
3. It snowed while we were there. The roads are windy and the approach to the house is steep. If you're going in the winter or early spring, I highly recommend a 4x4.
And that's it! Awesome vacation house an easy 2 hour drive from LAX in a gorgeous very very very quiet mountain setting.
