Welcome, and all aboard the Smoky Mountain Station - Pigeon Forge's first 'Traincation' lodging choice! Inside this authentic circa-1916 CSX caboose, train enthusiasts will discover an original railroad-charm-meets-luxury mountain retreat. Greeted by your very own ticket booth, you will climb aboard your very own 'Traincation' retreat! The caboose is seamlessly connected to a replica Euro-inspired train depot that houses the main suite, which features a hand-carved bed, dual closets, a smart TV, and direct access to a spa deck. The home is located in the heart of Pigeon Forge, within one mile of Dollywood, two blocks from a mountain coaster, and within a mile and a half of top attractions such as Dolly's Stampede, the Island Pigeon Forge, and the Old Mill District. And yes, you can hear Dolly's Steam Engine Whistle from the Smoky Mountain Station! How nostalgic!

The caboose interior is where you can enjoy a cozy den designed with industrial-inspired furniture, an electric fireplace, and a smart TV. An open floor plan takes you into a well-equipped kitchen with stainless steel appliances, custom hickory cabinets, and granite countertops. A striking cupola opens to a vaulted ceiling and allows the natural mountain light to flood the kitchen. Every square inch has been professionally designed with love and purpose!

For young (and young-at-heart) train lovers, the caboose has a second private bedroom with handmade bunk beds, and a sound machine that plays optional railway sounds to create that perfect railroad ambience! The caboose has one bathroom designed for the luxury traveler. A locally sourced river stone and slate shower with Delta fixtures and a craftsman-made, solid-poplar vanity adorned with a vintage mirror create the perfect space to prepare for your next adventure in the Smokies!

The Smoky Mountain Station fosters outdoor living for guests with a piping hot spa and a roaring firepit with Adirondack seating to enjoy after a long day of exploring. All of this can be enjoyed under the warm glow of garden lights. The Station also encourages photo ops in and around the train! You'll spot natural boulders and lush evergreens scattered throughout the landscape. The caboose's porches are the perfect spot for photoshoots.

A paper goods starter kit, fresh linens/towels, and soap are included.

The owners spared no expense creating this incredible and unique property for the Smoky Mountains to share. From the flickering depot cupolas to the authentic touches throughout the property, adventure seekers and train lovers alike will discover priceless memories at The Smoky Mountain Station.

With your reservation, enjoy one FREE Ticket to each of these attractions: Paula Dean's Lumberjack Dinner Show, Wonderworks, Smoky Mountain Observation Wheel, NASCAR Speedpark, Rocky Mountain Coaster and Skyland Ranch (a $205.00 Value) as well as Exclusive Discounted Tickets to Anakeesta, Hatfield & McCoy, Dolly's Stampede, Comedy Barn and more.

Welcome aboard
Loved the place. The location is right off the highway so privacy is a slight issue but loved otherwise

Good access to everything
Be careful as this rental is located right next to a major highway not secluded. Still a great location with quick access to everything.

Sweet Caboose
This is an adorable property that's perfect for a small family. Nice location to access both Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. The property is located close to a main road, but there are sound machines available.

The Cutest Caboose Around
We absolutely loved staying in this little caboose! The perfect size for my family of four. We loved everything about it! The decorations were perfect, the hot tub was a hit and the coziness was just amazing! We will definitely be staying again! Thank you so much for such a magical little place!

Super neat exterior, normal on the inside
It was ok. The outside makes it look super interesting however inside you do not get that old caboose feel. It’s been completely refinished and updated and doesn’t feel like a train car in the inside. It was very nice though.

Charming weekend stay
Our family was all smiles as we pulled up to the Smoky Mountain Station! The station is so charming. It has the perfect train ambiance with decor and sound machines in the rooms. It offers a convenient location, so clean it felt new, best sleep I’ve had away from home EVER! Kitchen is fully equipped if you feel like cooking, has a nice outdoor setup with a grill, table, fire pit and seating. The hottub was just what we needed after a long day at Dollywood! Our boys had the best time here and we made some perfect memories in the Smoky Mountain Station! A truly unique experience!

All Aboard for Weekend FUN!!
Love the whole entire concept! My grandson who loves trains was in HEAVEN! All the little details in the train and outside were absolutely perfect!!! If there was a negative it would be that the back area isn’t completely fenced in. When you have small kids close to that busy road it’s dangerous BUT the train, the cleanliness, accessibility and easy check in/out was on point!!! WAY TO GO!!!

Climb Aboard
Great experience as our eldest child loves all things TRAINS. It was extremely comfortable and was exactly as described. It was a little disconcerting to walk in and find the master patio door open and then discover that the majority of the locks inside do not seem very secure. The only other complaint we had was the large quantity of ants that we noted on arrival inside the caboose and throughout our stay. They didn’t bite anybody but we had to keep all of our belongings locked up in order to prevent the ants from climbing through them; this wouldn’t have been as irritating except someone in our family is deathly allergic to them and requires an epipen in case of bites

Unique Cabin
Love the cabin and it's uniqueness. Well done making it a great place to stay. Bed was very comfortable, hot tub was great and loved the opportunity to fix some light meals. Had a great fire in the firepit and love the setup for fire, grilling and eating outside. Issues: Large black ants dead on rugs and floors. Swept up and then more, so still coming in and then dying. Some live ones also crawling around mostly in master bedroom and living room. Need a step stool to get in bed...very high and I'm 5' 9 ". Outside lights not working. 4 strands and only one strand works. Master bedroom door does not work well. Overall a great place to stay for a few days.

Quite the experience
We arrived and it was as neat as the pictures show however we only had water from the one bathroom sink for the entire first night and second day, they said they would send someone and call me when it was fixed however never heard from anyone until the next day when I informed them they probably should bring more salt out as they left a little shaker jug and my mother in law slipped and fell which resulted in a broken wrist. They brought another jug of salt that evening. We departed the next day as expected. The first time when calling about the water I was on hold for 34 minutes and they said they “would make it right” however I never heard back from them.

Loved it!
My son loved this rental! It was very clean and close to all the fun. I had researched this property quite a bit before deciding and there were a few reviews that had me worried. However, once we arrived, I could tell that the owners really listen and take action in regards to feedback. Here are a couple improvements that I can see were made after past reviews. The French doors that lead to the hot tub have 3 locks- one dead bolt and a sliding lock at the top of each door. The door leading outside from the kids room has a deadbolt and a chain lock located at the top, out of reach of tiny people so there's no daring toddler escapes. A few reviews mentioned lack of privacy around the hot tub/backyard, but there are now privacy curtains around the hot tub as well as slat work around the fire pit. Another review mentioned that others went to the property thinking it was an attraction. We noticed people admiring it, but nobody walked up or approached us. I suspect it is because there is now a wooden sign and a very visible sign on the front deck that both say vacation rental. Now, I will say that the property is close to a road. We went in knowing that street sounds would be inevitable and decided the convenience was worth it. Sound machines are provided in both rooms which kept us from really noticing the street noise when sleeping. All in all we loved it and I appreciated seeing how much thought and attention goes into maintaining this property. My son is already talking about going back.

Mixed Reviews
Upon entering, the Decor of the cabin is very impressive. The train decor was a big selling point on us renting this cabin over others. But a few things made it not as much fun. For one, the biggest issue, that made me dock one whole star… upon arrival, the locks on the back door that goes from the Master bedroom to the hot tub area were broken so that they didn’t completely lock. The break is at the top of the door frame, where the upper locks ‘should’ lock… but the wood is broken in such a way that they can still be pushed open even when they are supposed to be locked. The deadbolts near the handles do not prevent this from happening. So it isn’t secure. A determined child could push these doors open and get to the hot tub area. This could be a safety issue, if a child got out unattended. And a safety issue in that outsiders could probably just as easily enter at this point. So don’t keep any valuables in here when not here. Next the Master bedroom… must be Mama Bear’s bed because it was just WAY too soft. I felt like I was sinking into it… that is considering if one could even climb onto it for being so tall off the ground. I am only 5’4”, and my husband 5’7”. It was a challenge. If you are gonna have a bed that high, there should at least be a step stool. But getting back to the softness… I don’t recommend it for anyone with back problems or Orthopedic issues. There were other smaller issues, but not enough room to write it here.

THE COOLEST PLACE TO STAY!
I never leave reviews but WOW. This place deserves one. It was everything and more. My kids will never forget it and already want to plan a trip back. Truly, they thought the house/train was cooler than anything we did in pigeon forge.. including Dollywood. It’s very clean and there are so many train details throughout the home. It was “homey” and had everything we would need. The beds were very comfortable too. Tv and Internet worked great, the hot tub was awesome, and we made smores by the fire out back every night. It is on a very busy road, BUT you can’t beat the location. It is 3 minutes to Dollywood and 5 minutes to the island and all that pigeon forge has to offer. There is a mountain coaster less than 1 minute down the road. Check in and out was extremely easy as well. If you’re looking for a fun place to stay with your kids- this is it! We can’t wait to come back next year.

Nice train stay experience
We visited the smoky mountains and Dollywood park, the train house was really close to the park. The train house was a nice weekend home for our 3year old twins, they were really excited to sleep in a real train. Very well kept and nice backyard to enjoy sitting around the bonfire and make s’mores

Fun stay in good location
We really enjoyed our visit here with our train-obsessed son. There are several nice features of this home, as well as some things that could be improved. What we loved: -Easy to find, with a great location very close to downtown Pigeon Forge and Dollywood -Easy check in and check out -Home was clean when we arrived -Everything feels new -Great outdoor space with hot tub, fire pit and chairs, and picnic table -The train theme is very well done -Comfortable beds Things to be aware of before booking: -This home has a lot of exterior doors, which is generally convenient. In the king bedroom, the exterior doors have deadbolts up high and out of children's reach. But in the children's bedroom, there are no deadbolts—just a relatively easy-to-open door handle. For that reason, we were not comfortable having our young child sleep in that room alone. -When it is very hot out, the A/C is not completely efficient. We were there during very high heat, and the temperature of the home never got down to what we set the thermostat at. This seems to be mostly because of the nature of the home and the fact that it likely doesn't have a lot of insulation, as the A/C worked well on the one night that was cooler. The bedrooms do not have fans, which would be nice for hotter nights. -The living room does not have a couch—just a padded bench and matching chair. For that reason, it was not a very comfortable space to relax and watch TV. -The home is located right on a busy highway. For us, this wasn't an issue, but it's definitely something to consider if you are looking for a quieter location.

Mountain caboose
This place is for any train enthusiast. It's an actual early 1,900's caboose with all knotty pine walls and floor; sitting area, small kitchen, then leads back to a room with bunk beds. With an adjoining section that has the bath room with a walk in shower lined with stone and a pebble floor. Going from there into the master bedroom that's in a building looking like a depot. The bed is very spacious. There's a French door from the master bedroom that leads you to a back deck that has the hot tub. There are curtains for privacy. Beyond that, you go down steel stairs to the sitting area that has chairs around a fire pit. Also a grill and pic- nic table. A privacy fence has been installed made of steel strips that goes with the theme of the experience, doesn't make you feel boxed in. It's located within a small drive to the strip of Pegion Forge or Gatlinburg; just a walk to a mountain coaster or Dollywood. Sometimes can here the whistle of the steam train from the park. It's a one of kind stay for the area and will be back.
