Quaint B&B in Pietermaritzburg.
Run by two brothers they have excellent customer service. House is secure and rooms are all different. The Wanderers room which we had has a loo, shower and basin in the room itself which may not suit everyone. Other rooms are different. Has drinks available on an honesty system and breakfast, ordered the evening before, was very good. Recommended.

First Impressions is deceiving
Maybe not (currently) the most upmarket area and at first glance looks will deceive you. This is a well looked after classic home, that has everything that you need for a short stay. Will return if we are in the area again.

Need to be near the Eye Hospital?
Visit to Pietermaritzburg Eye Hospital, which is almost within walking distance. A quiet street for the overnight stay.

Unforgettable stay

Nice and well managed Guesthouse
Tancredi Bed and Breakfast is a well managed guesthouse. Enjoyed the stay. Friendly owner, nice breakfast. Enjoyed the clean room and bathroom. The area was perfect for me and it is a safe location.

Great hospitality, good sleep, lovely breakfast.
Stayed for just one night whilst in transit. Warmly welcomed by Annie, who kindly went out of her way to ensure we had a good stay. Very comfortable room. Lovely full breakfast (ordered the night before). Located about 30 minute walk from city centre (not very special!). Best to drive. If ever in Pietermaritzburg again, would very happily stay at Tancredi.

Beautiful home with welcoming host
Anne immediately made us feel very welcome. The character-full house was beautifully decorated and our room was very comfortable, with a supply of delicious home-made rusks replenished each day! We were served a delicious breakfast in the dining room at our requested time each morning of our stay.

Great breakfast, but beware the overflow room
Tancredi itself was very nice, with a beautiful garden, great attention to detail in the decor, and a good breakfast. But I was on a business trip and had selected a particular room from the website which I didn't seem to get - I was given a room a few properties down the road which I was told is used to accommodate overflow. It was quite small and not really conducive to working, with no suitable work top to sit at with my laptop.

Sehr netten Empfang durch Inhaberin des Gästehauses. Wir bekamen sogar einen persönlichen Willkommensbrief. Das Zimmer war sehr schön und geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Es hatte einen schönen Erker in dem das Bett stand. Es war gut, dass wir gefragt wurden, was wir zum frühstücken wollen, welches sehr lecker war. Auf der Terasse kann man sich in die gemütliche Sitzecke kuscheln.
