"Got an upgrade from a single bed at the shore to a double within the larger Kirkwall hotel and the room was beautiful. For what I paid It was fantastic value for money. I would have given five stars but for one niggle. Room 215 could do with sound proofing as I heard two people speaking until the early hours either in my neighbouring room, or between levels. I had to use my earphones to get sleep to tune them out. I wonder what like it would be if either room was watching a film if I can hear...

"Our host John was so kind and helpful about what to see while we’re there and restaurant recommendations. Our spacious and immaculate accommodations had a separate sitting room with complimentary drinks and snacks. The king sized bed had beautiful and comfortable linens. The bathroom was large and luxurious. The complimentary breakfast each morning was delicious and served in a pretty dining room with beautiful views of the property. "Fantastic stay. I would highly recommend staying here if you are visiting Orkney. My room was beautiful with everything you could need. My bathroom was fantastic with a bath and a great walk in double shower with rain shower. The food is fantastic and I would highly recommend eating here even if you aren’t a guest. Breakfast was acceptable (cereal, toast, boiled egg - not full English). Beautiful outlook across to Hoy with small ferry terminal serving Hoy and Flotta close by. Not inconvenienced by ferry, noise or traffic using it. Excellent position for visiting the ‘mainland’ including Kirkwall and Stromness. A car is a must...
