"Clean. Tricly to get to. But came as advertised"

"It was our first trip to Italy, and this was the perfect family dwelling. The pictures don't begin to capture the breathtaking Dolomites or the outstanding accommodations! The kitchen is a gem! So convenient and easy to cook. We had a chef come in to fix dinner on our last day, and he loved the kitchen, too. We took walks/hikes on the surrounding trails, and relaxed by the gorgeous pool which, by the way, has beautiful night lighting!! The owner fixed pizza in the outdoor pizza oven one evening,...

"Skøn plet i bjergene. Vi nød det virkeligt, men der er 20 minutters bjergkørsel til indkøb, så man skal huske det hele, når man handler ind. Pool, hus og området omkring huset var super lækkert. Skøn vandretur på ruten Grottorotondo ovenfor huset. Eneste minus var, at vi i den grad følte os værfet ud på afrejsedagen, hvor vi egentligt havde udtjekning kl. 10, men der kom allerede folk kl. 6 om morgenen og påbegyndte klargøring af pool og udeområder med larmende græsslåning. 3 rengøringsdamer...

"Unbelievably stunning setting. You will need to be a confident driver to manage the roads up to the house as the roads are steep and winding as you would expect in Tuscany. The smell of Jasmine and the natural peaceful surrounding beauty is amazing. We used the pool everyday and enjoyed a bbq too. We loved the little lizards, flamboyant butterflies and stargazing at night. There is a great cafe about 29 minutes walking up the hill with a lovely atmosphere and a small local shop to get essentials...

"It's a long drive up winding hills, but once you arrive in Sassi, you can forget about all your worries, sit back and relax. The main farmhouse and the cottage are both well-equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The pool was a godsend on especially hot days, especially for the children, who spent hours playing Marco Polo and other water games well into the evening. Our host was extremely helpful and was a walking encyclopedia of information about the surrounding areas, too....

"We had a great week at Casa Tolomei. The house retains its traditional historic feel though benefits from an updated kitchen and bathrooms. We stayed during a particularly hot week so it was great to have the new pool to keep cool! The family really enjoyed the space of having ante-rooms to their bedrooms too. "We loved our stay at the villa. There was plenty of room and the kids loved the pool. The hosts were helpful. There is plenty to do in the surrounding area and the cities of Lucca, Pisa and Florence are outstanding. The nearer towns of Barga and Castelnuovo are also very attractive. The area has recently been a center of attention on BBC with Amanda Holden, Rob Rinder and Clive Myrie. However, if you don't like heights and hairpin bends up a mountainside, this might not be the villa for you."

"When we arrived at our place we were relieved as the drive up the mountain was a bit scary the closer we got. When we opened the doors we were ecstatic at how nice the house was. Better than the online pictures. So much space and the views were breathtaking and different every morning. Wildlife out our back door. So many fire flies. Henné the property manager was so friendly and accommodating and helpful. Brought us coffee even after I said we were going for our own she arrived to meet us...
