Location was okay and they had cart to take you to beach or market but the trouble was if you spoke english they ignored you. There was No customer service at all at the hotel. Nobody asked us if we wanted a drink while at the pool and we had lunch once at the hotel and we where the only one in there eating.. too bad for a hotel to have zero customer service
I stayed at Muong Thanh for 2 nights, they didn't clean my room after the 1st night. Breakfast on the 2nd day was VERY poor quality. They were cleaning table clothes and re-arranging chairs while serving breakfast at 7:45. A huge table cloth was placed in the middle of the restaurant while guests were having breakfast. Most of the food was empty around 8AM and didn't get refill even though breakfast time is 6:30-9AM. It's definitely NOT a 5-star hotel and service like they advertised.

Property was ok, quite run down and does not fit its 4-star rating. The foot massage palour operating within the hotel is dodgy. My 1-hour foot massage was "normal". However, during my husband's foot massage, the masseuse kept pushing his toes into her breasts, as if making an offer for other services. Needless to say, my husband was very annoyed and thought it a totally waste of money and that he should have been paid to service her, not the other way around. I would not come back, and neither would the other 5 couples who came with us during this stay. Had me wondering if this would have turned into a sex exchange had it been a different male patron?
Worst hotel experience! Terrible uneducated staff who were super money driven and wanted to charge for everything. The bed sheets had stains in them, the hotel management was terrible and the checkin took 45 minutes even though we were the only ones in the lobby yet they messed it up.
We were traveling as a family and the hotel had everything we needed. Beach is short walk away and grocery stores and various restaurants are close by. Has a free shuttle to town center.
hotel is run down. Room is very basic, not so clean, old. Worst, there is a gap at the balcony which a young kid can squeeze through and fall down. Very unsafe!!

Reasonable but not good
hotel was reasonable I guess but the food is terrible and comunicatoin with the staff is frustrating the standard of English leads a lot to be desired. The hotel is also in the middle of a building site/ghost town with virtually no ammeneties close by and One ATM that never works also is quite far from town overall not a very good location or hotel
We had the suite with the view of the sea.
Rooms were good especially with the jacuzzi with water jets in the toilet.
Room was huge with sitting area and king size bed.
Felt the air conditioning was not too well positioned as the vents only cooled the living room area and the bedroom needs more time to be cooled.
Did not go to the beach directly from the hotel due to some construction going on.
Strongly recommend to rent a bike from the hotel to get around but have to exercise cautious riding especially at night the street lights do not turn on.
Good and quiet hotel overall.

Too many power outrage
The hotel room is very clean and spacious. However, during our 2 nights stay, there was at least 5 power outrage where there is no electricity and aircon was down during the period. There was once it stopped at around 7-8am when we were still sleeping. The power outrage was pretty bad and if you are planning to stay in during the day, it might be worst.
The hotel staff have limited English knowledge and it could be frustrating at times. However, they are all willing to try and help whenever needed.
The hotel is big and the room spacious with all essential amenities. The buffer breakfast has a lot of varieties but the food seem not as fresh and authentic. The major plus is their staffs dedication to the job and helping guests at their capable best. Because the staffs are so lovely, the hotel condition does work for us, despite the hotel is situated in the middle of an estate in mid-construction and not close to the beach. The hotel has a shuttle bus service to Duong Dong at 7 pm each night, an effective airport shuttle bus, renting out motobike at a very reasonable price (12 AUD a day), and transport to a very small beach (this is Phu Quoc, no immense beach, be ware) even though we had to pay 3AUD each for the beach chair (bring tower with you because none will be provided), apparently this is a beach shared by many hotels in this area.
The only one thing that bothered me is I found the stained toilet seat in our room when we first arrived. The pool area has the look of a cheap motel set up and actually spoiled the look of "Luxury" Muong Thanh.
In conclusion, we are happy and have high praise for the staff at Muong Thanh Phu Quoc.
It is a nice, spacious hotel room. The hotel lobby is grand but the decoration is real bad. Too many black, grey chairs filled up the lobby for no reasons. The staff who arranges our tour is very helpful, free shuttle bus is a plus otherwise this hotel is far from central. The swimming pool is nice even sitting right in front of the hotel, staff can be more helpful by asking guests if they like to order drink...just sitting or standing there chatting or do nothing is a waste of hotel money. Breakfast is not as good as other hotel in term of quality. The contruction make the surrounding look bad but since we went with the tour at Sao beach much better condition or go to next door hotel beach to play.
Nice looking hotel ..surrounded by views and noise of construction.
Used by tour companys for chinese tourists....so noise!!!
Outside and inside the hotel.
Will not return to this hotel
Friendly staff, very good breakfast, big rooms, all in all very satisfied with the resort. A bit outside of the the rest (ie Duong Dong). Very quiet area. Hotel fixed shuttle from airport, one thing to mention is we waited for while before the shuttle showed up. Other than that, nothing to complain about. Gym is larger than what you normally get at hotels (at least in Europe).

3 Star Hotel.
Upon arrival we drove through a construction site, to realise the hotel was in the middle of it. We got to our room and there was an ant infestation on the carpet and the sheets weren’t washed to a hotel standard (stained). I went to the lobby and they switched our rooms immediately. However, I still didn’t not feel the new room was as clean as it could be. The hotel itself was nice, but don’t look too close, in parts it looks very unfinished or poorly finished. The rooftop bar was closed as well as the tennis court. The pool bar was understaffed and did not have half the drinks on the menu as the Ingriedients were not in stock.
The service staff had very poor to nill English skills. They themselves were very nice people and were trying, however it is difficult when upper management has neglected both the training of staff and the upkeep or general care in creating a “4 Star” Hotel.
This hotel company needs to seriously train and provide appropriate facilities if they want to claim that star status. All in all we stayed and spent most of our time out and exploring the island: which is beautiful!
This hotel is located in the middle of a construction zone, everything around it is under construction. Hotel is far from everywhere, only a couple of small restaurants nearby. A free shuttle bus to night market is available but they only have one bus per day. This hotel is listed to have 'private beach'. This is not true.
Staffs need some smiles. They only do whatever they are asked. Breakfast is average.
Our room had a nice view to the sea but we could see the construction site in between, which is not very nice specially when all you want is to be far of civilisation, resting in a paradisiac place. Not much to see in the area. WiFi was dropping off. Gym was better than average though.
Even though I called expedia before I went on holiday to check if there was noisy construction work going on around the hotel (due to trip advisor reviews) i was promised there was none by the manager of the hotel and Expedia, this was a complete lie, there was construction underway all around mostly at ridiculous hours during the night, loud machines, bright lights, shouting over all pretty disgusting !!!!!
The hotel is pretty new, which is good in terms of rooms being in pretty good condition but it also has the typical new hotel problems. Staff (except reception) don't speak much English, which can get frustrating. The food menu at the restaurant is 'plain-jane' and food takes forever to arrive. My friend waited 25mins for a simple grilled chicken with rice and my mixed fried rice took 45mins (strange!).
The location of the pool is a little strange as well, right next to the driveway of the hotel in full view of arriving/departing guests/visitors/taxis.
Phu Quoc is experiencing a boom at the moment, which is seen in the amount of construction on the island. The hotel is surrounded by construction activity on all sides so you're outta luck if you were looking forward to a little peace and quiet.
all staff there are nice & pro, especially FO team, buffer is very diverse with a lot of fresh food . From hotel to the center about 10km but that was not a problem for us because the hotel has free shuttle bus and they also have buggy to the beach. In addition, a lot of forms services like restaurant , gym center , swimming pool, spa ,tennis , karaoke.
Pool was really good. Room with sunset view was amazing. Staff were always nice and very helpful. Great that they have a shuttle bus to the main town close by at night so we can attend the night market for free. This is definitely a bonus.
