"We loved our stay at Pongphen Guesthouse. Great location. Easy walk to many restaurants, convenience stores, etc. 15 minute walk from Kanchanburi train station (where you board the Death Railway) and the Death Railway Museum and War Cemetary. Staff was super friendly and very helpful in booking tours and telling us what to see. Located along river, we had some beautiful sunset views! They were doing some construction by the pool which was a bit noisy during the day but otherwise it was fabulous! "

"Nice place along the river in town. Short tuk tuk ride to all of the sights in town and train station. Wi Fi is ok but only allows one device at a time to be logged in. Staff did provide extra login codes on request. TV did not work but not a big deal since we were not here to hang out in room and watch TV."

"The hotel is quite a long distance from Bangkok, but for a couple of nights it is worth a visit (and the 2-3 hour drive across from Bangkok). The setting on the river is beautiful. We have one of the rooms with the kayaks, and these are easily accessible/ readily available. The only drawbacks were that there really is nothing to do in the local area, and to get into the town centre the only option is to use the hotel's taxi service (no other local services or Grab options available). There wasn't much privacy for sunbathing at the top of the room we had, but this was no trouble really. All day breakfast, with bubbles available with this too, was a good touch of flexibility (with food options being tasty) good value for the price. Clean, comfortable and very conveniently located for the BTS and other local activities (street food, massages, night markets etc.). Transport to and from the airport is handy too, via public transport. Hotel gives two free bottles of water per day as well."

"Wonderful waterfront jucuzzi view. Breakfast was adequate with a beautifull view and attentive hospitality staff. Easy location for drinks and s few girlie bars and live music only a few minutes walk. I will stay at this hotel again in January and recommend it to other travellers "

"This is an older hotel but it is clean and comfortable. I stayed in an air-conditioned room with hot shower. The room was away from the road and quiet. The food market and river are just a few minutes walk away. "
