"Royal Mekong Boutique Hotel" ? Funny. It is joke to call this mid-range guesthouse (at best) a "boutique". From the negative non-responsive attitude of the front desk, to the ABSOLUTELY dirty bathroom with semi-working plumbing. To top the insult - the bus to Bangkok bookings they sold us was the worst. Down grade this place. There much better choices!
We are a group of 10 persons and we are quite satisfied of the general condition of the hotel. Gentle staff and a very clear swimming pool with bar. The hotel is located not too far from the National Museum and Royal Palace on the Mekong River.

Good location. Close to cafe shops and mall.
The condition of this hotel is fair and the swimming pool is located in different building a cross the street which is uncomfortable to use. Breakfast is only with eggs, slide bread, pan cake, fruits ,coffee and tea.
I was surprised that our room was situated near the pool area. excellent setting and everything described was present in the room. there were even books in the shelf for you to read. we were surprised that after coming back from a tour, they still managed to changed our bedding even we were only for a night stay. to those who would want to visit phnom penh for a short stay, book this hotel because it's walking distance to riverside and local restaurants in the city. KFC is just 100 meters away. staff are pleasant and allowed us the leave our luggage for free after check out. book this hotel for a great experience.
Room across street from reception.Walk into a courtyard with a nice pool.the room very good bed and good tv.Can walk 5 miniutes to river for great night out..A big market just 2 buildings over for anything you need.

No hot shower at all, bed sheet and pillow cases had not been changed after previous guest. A/C old and noisy.
Great small hotel, rooms upgraded very nicely. Very comfortable beds. Small but nice swimming pool is a great bonus. Only disadvantage is location is out a bit from main tourist areas. But if you don't mind walking a bit, no problem. Decent breakfast another good bonus
Apparently there were some nice rooms in the complex- I didn't have 1 - it was dingy, smelly & had lots of mosquitoes. When I complained I was told the only other room I could have didn't have AC that worked very well. The hotel was fairly empty & I was paying much more for my room then others who were staying in better rooms. Because I had prepaid I was stuck.

Good value, great location
The hotel is located in a great area. They have two buildings. We stayed in the older building the room was a bit tired and in need of a makeover. However it was a good size and everything you needed. The staff were helpful and Tuk Tuk's right outside ready to take you anywhere. We did walk into the riverside as it's not to far.
I have been this place when they often first. Since then, it is downhill all the way, so I will never return to this one. It is not worth to waste my time to say all the bad things about this hotel.
Clean, comfortable, good breakfast, all as promised. Would stay again.

Great pool, okay hotel
Had a good stay here for 3 nights. The room was quiet and comfortable. The bed and bathroom were clean, but aside from that rather dirty and gritty floor, dust all over the walls and windows. The pool was the best part of this hotel with great sun and fenced in from the street. Breakfast was alright but wouldn't stretch to call it a buffet. The hotel staff did try and get us to pay an additional $40 for the 3 breakfasts we had saying we paid for only room only. Upon showing them the reservation from hotels.com saying free breakfast daily they still wanted us to pay. Be careful when making the booking here that you keep your reference to a free breakfast.
Nice staff, helpful, a real nice place to stay. This hotel was most comfortable.

Nice enough but nothing special.
We booked a room with a window, unfortunately the window looked onto a brick retaining wall and gave very little natural light and no view. Breakfast was adequate if you liked eggs, no real variety of food. The pool was very nice although it was on the other side of the road from the main Hotel.
the hotel was advertised as 4 star. that would really be pushing it. While the accommodation waS SATISFACTORY AND HAD BEEN REFURBISHED it did not in any way relate to the photos.
replenishing of the tea and coffee facilities was non existent unless asked
service was friendly and helpful
This hotel is about 10 mins walk from Mekong River and Royal Palace. as you step out of this hotel turn left toward riverside and walk about 100 meters as you hit the intersection of first road there is supermarket Pencil and KFC to your right. The are feels safe even during the night time. Hotel staff is friendly and attentive. We were offered room on the ground floor. Not too loud but you can hear the children from swimming pool.
We didn't eat food at hotel so no comments. Although satisfactory breakfast at but could've been better with that price. Water temperate in shower is mostly cold/hot. Can't control the temperature as it will come hot when you push the nob to cold and vice versa and unexpected in a weird way. The bump gun pressure is way too much and you can't use it however they will provide you with toilet rolls. I hope this helps.
The Royal Mekong is close to many of the sites you want to see in Phnom Penh however the neighborhood is poorly lit and you need to take a tuk tuk to go anywhere at night. The biggest issue was the security. There is no secured gate or door at night. The room door did not have a dead bolt and the room safe was not bolted to the wall. When I literally carried the safe down the the front desk the staff asked me if it was broken. I was there three nights and the safe was never mounted.
