It was so peaceful with beautiful views of the lake. Just what we needed & the dog too, tons of fun playing in the lake & large private yard.
Plenty of hiking trails close by & just a short jaunt to restaurants & shops.
It was a beautiful place to stay with a great view! Very big and spacious which made it a comfortable place. We had beautiful weather. Very Blessed!!! Thanks Again
We loved staying here! It was a great location for our purposes, and so very relaxing, even in the winter. I can imagine that it is even more wonderful in the summer!
The host is extremely helpful and answers questions immediately! We highly recommend this listing!
Cabin was as advertised. Tons of room although we didn't spent a great deal of time there. Great location for us, minutes from Phillips. Beautiful views from the cabin and the pier. Could not have asked for more.
Had a fabulous time with some high school/college friends. Ended up catching about 50-60 fish including a small 30 inch musky. Place was exceptionally clean and the views from inside were perfect. The fire pit is located close enough to the water to really get the lake feel. The canoes and kayaks provided were way beyond expectation compared to previous up north stays. Very impressed and would definitely recommend.
Overall, our stay was good. There was an ant problem in the kitchen, so we couldn't leave anything on the counter. A good bug spraying and powerwashing around the outside would just clean things up a little. Swimming is fair with a fair amount of weeds. Good fishing for younger kids. The air hockey was a big hit. We used the kayaks
and canoes which was nice. We did a last minute vacation with the grandkids and had a good time. Inside was clean except for the ants.
Property and home were wonderful. Comfortable, relaxing, and perfect for our needs. Docking our 14 foot fishing boat at the dock proved challenging due to lack of posts along pier, but we managed. Fishing proved challenging but what we did catch was good size. 18 1/2 inch largemouth and a surprise 45 inch musky caught right off dock. All other bass good size as well!
Overall, a beautiful property, property manager who was easy to work with, and another great trip to northern Wisconsin.
The cabin is stunning. The floor to ceiling windows in the living room with the view of the lake is so incredible. There have been many updates made to the property as it seems very modern, but cozy at the same time. Loved the use of the kayaks. There was not much traffic on the lake, it was so peaceful. We actually caught lots of fish right from the dock, which was fun. We also brought our small fishing boat and were able to explore the lake with that as well. We did go to the county campground in Phillips (5 minute drive away) and swam at the beach one day. Lots of things to do in the area. We really enjoyed our stay here.

Disliked: Cleanliness, listing accuracy
Good for location, but the house needs more updates.
The house needs more cleaning( spiders and webs are in every room and windows) the patio door not working properly, and not even one light on the back porch. The house is inaccurately posted in vrbo.It says pet friendly 1dog any size, but on the day of travelling the owner sent me a message with NO PETS ALLOWED,the internet very poor connection...overall the location it's everything the house NO!
The cottage was Great, a very nice place. We enjoyed indoor and outdoor fires. Had fun in the kayaks and my dog even learned how to ride in the canoe! Only disappointment was no swimming. Water was not good quality. Did catch some small fish, even a couple enuf to have a snack on. Very private setting. Kari was always easy to get answer from too.
We had a great weekend with my parents at the cabin. Perfect cabin for hanging with the family.
Hot weekend with no AC but we made it work! Deck and views were lovely.
This property was just right for our family of 5 and dog. Game room, full kitchen, two double beds in 1 bedroom for our girls with an extra mattress for our boy - in addition to our master bedroom, beautiful view from deck, 2 kayaks and 2 canoes, fire pit, grill … very secluded feeling. It was exactly what we wanted.
The location was wonderful. We loved fishing off the dock and were able to put our little boat in just down the road. The kids had a blast in the water. We are definitely adding it to our favorites list.
This property has a stunning lake view especially at sunset. The property owners left the dock in later than usual for us to use since we wanted to bring our boat. The public launch area was very close. The cabin had comfy beds and a well stocked kitchen. We enjoyed many games of darts and air hockey after sunset. Unfortunately we thought it was too breezy to enjoy a campfire but it was nice to have the option weather pending. It was a short drive to town for groceries or dining. Corresponding with the owners was great and we had responses within 24 hours.
The only downside was the kitchen table surface was tacky so we didn’t have game nights.
Had a group of friends stay here for a long weekend of grouse and woodcock hunting. Cabin was fantastic and worked great for us. Would definitely stay here again.
The house was gorgeous and in a nice quiet location at the end of a dead end road. Far enough from town to be quite but close enough if you need something. The house was clean and comfy. The lake and fall colors were beautiful. The wildlife were fun to watch. Deer eating right outside the window. Grouse running around. And a pack of coyotes howling after dark across the lake. I would definitely book this place again. We had an amazing time. Visited the fall festival and Harbor View. Got some pie from the cafe. Took the afternoon and visited Brigadoon Winery and Sawmill Brewing in Merrill.
The house was beautiful. Plenty of space (4 adults, 2 kids) had some rainy weather but having the dart board and air hockey table helped plus streaming on the TV. My brother and husband enjoyed exploring the lake with the kayaks and my daughters made the most out of the little swimming area. Both girls caught fish with their little fishing poles much to their delight. My mom and I simply relaxed. We had everything we needed. The kitchen was a delight to cook in. As we were eating breakfast before leaving to head home this morning we had a doe right outside the kitchen window. We are truly hoping to come back and make more memories. Kari was great to interact with and always quick with responses. Thank you for sharing your slice of heaven with us.
The property is better in person than it appears online. Common areas are very spacious! My husband and I stayed with our daughter and her husband and we had plenty of room. The view from the deck is amazing! We didn’t know if there was furniture for the deck so we brought some folding chairs. As it turns out, folding chairs were available. Another reviewer commented on lack of curtains, this has been addressed and both bedrooms have curtains. The place is very clean and has several new appliances. The beds are amazingly comfortable, and I am picky about that. The lake is nice and quiet during the week with a little more action on the weekends, which is to be expected. We got some amazing sunset pics. Overall, we enjoyed our stay very much.
Everything was amazing, so serene and beautiful. A ton of little extras like games and movies for rainy days. Only thing that would make me hesitate to rebook would be the bed, I couldn’t tolerate it so I slept by kids. Absolutely stunning views and cabin. We had an amazing time, and the host was pleasant and helpful with any small issues that came up.
Overall, this place is great. It's only 10 minutes from the town of Phillips and at the end of a private road so it's pretty secluded, even if there are a few close neighbors. The property in general could use some sprucing up though. None of the bedrooms have curtains or blinds, which feels odd but also ensures you get up at daybreak, whether you want to or not. There are also a few areas where landscaping has just been left to go wild and the outside deck could be cleaned up a bit. We visited at the beginning of June and got eaten alive by mosquitos and having a screened in outdoor area (like the deck) would have been lovely. I feel like I'm just nitpicking (except about the lack of curtains/blinds in the bedroom) because overall we liked the stay.
My wife, 2 kids and I stayed here for 4 days. The place was very spacious. The kids loved the queen size beds and the bonus air hockey and darts. The living room is huge and cozy with a nice view of the lake. The kitchen has plenty of room and nice appliances. The mosquitoes were brutal but I think it’s just that time of year.Fishing from the pier was excellent. Caught 4 nice bass, a nice size musky and endless panfish. My son and I saw a black bear cub on the road to the place. That was really neat!We will likely rent here again.
The cabin is great with a perfect up north vibe and excellent sunset views over the lake. Its a little bit of a hill to get down to the lake but well worth it.
