"The hotel was clean and quiet. Exactly what you want while traveling. It was very conveniently located to a grocery store and pleny of walking, running ,or biking trails. It is right next to the Old town of Hanau, which is very nice. We stayed for a week and the only critique that i have is, i wish it had a little bigger fridge so we could store a couple items in it. Just so we wouldnt have to eat out 4 times a day. Other than that, i would definitely stay ther again. "

"This is a discount hotel, and for those purposes it is very good. if you sleep with the window open, the traffic noise is quite loud, but being from the city, it did not bother me much. Notes for American tourists. You must contact the hotel in order to check in, and when they say 3 PM check-in, it means 3 PM. There is no staff on site for the most part, but get in contact with the hotel ahead of time and you will be fine. The host was kind enough to give us an extra hour to check out, and the room is absolutely serviceable. The bed was surprisingly comfortable, and the shower is comically small. The walk from the train station is about 1 km, but the area is so beautiful. You probably will not mind."

"This is a basic hotel that is clean and provides wifi and good bathroom facilities. It is located in the Hanau downtown area and provides good access to that area. It did not offer breakfast nor any means to make coffee in the room. That meant an early morning trip to the streets each day to find a wake-up cup of coffee. This was our only lodging experience during a 27 day trip to Europe where coffee was not anywhere to be had in the hotel. The other thing that was unique was that there was no air-conditioning which necessitated keeping the window open to the very loud surroundings. The neighborhood is a bit sketchy, but that seems to be the norm for downtown Hanau these days. We have family in that city and we've stayed in downtown Hanau twice. Both times we were disappointed with the hotel, but we've concluded that it's more the sorry state of the Hanauer Innenstadt than the hotels themselves. Next time we stay somewhere else. "

"This hotel is in a quiet safe neighborhood. So if you’re looking for easy access to restaurants or other amenities, this isn’t the place for you. We like quiet and we traveled with a car so it worked for us. The property is clean and quaint with a cute garden out back and our room had enough beds for 3 adults, which was perfect for our family. On the downside, when we arrived at 6pm on a Tuesday, the front door was locked. Not a soul around even though the front desk hours said 5-9pm. There was a sign on the door (in German of course) stating to call the number to get a code to open the key lock box. This won’t be a problem for locals, however, being from out of the country, it took us some time to figure out how to call a German number and also translate the sign. This would have been a lot easier if we would have been informed ahead of time of these special instructions. We are now ready to check out in the morning and have yet to see any staff. That’s just weird to me. There appears to be a breakfast area, but no breakfast anywhere. The information on my Expedia accommodation details says breakfast is available. This place ended up working out for us for one night, but I won’t recommend it based on the difficulty of checking in and lack of communication/information. "
