"We arrived as a last minute stay for a sunrise hike for Pen Y Fan on a winters night. The hotel is a 5 min drive from the national trust car park from where everyone ascends so a perfect location for anyone exploring the Brecons. As with some of the other comments, the hotel was dated and in need of a refresh. The pool facilities were fine, though the hot tub wasn’t bubbling, or overly warm on our stay. However, the hotel staff were superb! They were super friendly, attentive and couldn’t help...

"Nice hotel but dated. Could do with refreshing to bring Upto modern day standard. Bit more expensive than would expected and definitely didn't like the restaurant food standard wasn't good. Even under cooked chips and that's a something simple to cook."

"The room was just as shown on the photos. I had seen some negative reviews so had some apprehension, but there were no problems on our visit. Comfortable beds, hot water, good heating, reasonable carpet; 24/7 Asda shop and other facilities at the service station. No fridge or cooking facilities, but I took a microwave and had no problems. Overall the property seems to have some maintenance issues with various buckets strategically placed to catch drips in the foyer and one corridor: but...

"It is a lovely hotel. A couple of gripes though. No-one on reception for check in or out. Very expensive drinks (£70 for 3 glasses of wine and a pint of beer!). Very lumpy pillows. And the worst - no milk only revolting vegan oat milk - why are they catering for the minority not the majority? Made the nice coffee from the coffee machine undrinkable and I really need my morning coffee."

"Our 2nd visit to lovely hotel, it is nicely situated for easy access to Cardiff and surrounding area. Facilities are excellent, restaurant has a good menu and the food is superb. "

"Christmas break to unwind and relax at this busy time and it was fantastic also sat looking at the moon outside in the jacuzzi which was extra special. The evening meal was delicious and couldn’t fault anything. A lovely breakfast the next day finishing off a perfect stay. Thank you all."
