My boyfriend and I drove 6 hours for a weekend stay in Cornwall. I picked Stablesrooms 3 because it looked absolutely lovely, and had really great reviews. However, when I got there, the keys to the property had already been taken out of the lock box. I was rather confused, so phoned the number on the Hotels.com website. I was informed by the lady on the other end of the phone that the property was no longer managed by them. It turned out that as the management of the Stablerooms had changed, my booking had not gone through and the property had been given to someone else. After a very stressful hour, where we thought we would have to turn around and drive back home as we had nowhere to stay, we were given alternative accommodation for the night by the hotel who had taken over management. They were very apologetic and we had a lovely stay in their hotel.
Hotels.com really need to update their website to include the new contact details, so this doesn't happen again.
