"We had such a delightful stay at this lovely hotel - a beautiful setting, extremely comfortable rooms and public spaces, and exceptionally attentive, helpful, and friendly staff. We felt warmly welcomed and cared for from the moment of arrival to our departure. Breakfast was also delicious, and the sound of the river rushing by outside our window and the dining room was heavenly. A very special place, very special people, and surely one of the one of the loveliest hotels in the area."

It is a great place to explore the nearby towns such as Cognac, Limoges, Angouleme and many interesting small villages. Christine was extremely kind and helpful and we have no hesitation in recommending it if you are considering a holiday in this area. "

"We actually came to this house BY MISTAKE. We had thought we were making a booking far away, and only discovered that we were going here the night before. (Our mistake.) It was a delight - and a relief - therefore to find that the place was really lovely. The lake is nice, a few miles away, and you could spend days there, but apart from that there’s not a great deal nearby. However, the house itself is lovely – the garden is lovely, and the host, Maelissa, was sweet, welcoming and helpful. The garden is big and there are three bedrooms, each with a bathroom. The central area is a nice family area with kitchen, dining table and sofas. There’s a barbecue outside and we ate many meals outside at the large table. Perhaps the highlight for me was THE HAMMOCK. I could - and did - spend hours in it with my book. We made some family videos which we put on Instagram made at the house. Look at @SomeVirgos if interested. "

"We had a very enjoyable and relaxing stay in this lovely gîte. Sandra and Alun gave us a very warm welcome and were very helpful on where to visit and recommendations on where to eat. The accommodation is very comfortable and we thoroughly enjoyed relaxing by and using the pool. We particularly enjoyed exploring Brantôme, Périgueux, Bourdeilles, the caves at Villars and the surrounding area. We highly recommend this gîte and would stay here again. "Zak was a brilliant host, friendly, attentive and ready to quick to any ofrequest. The chateau is fabulous, with loads of very big rooms to spread out in and all the facilities you coukd want. The plunge pool is a bonus on a hot day! "
