Lovely cottage.
Lovely cottage. Really spacious, clean and tidy. High quality bedding and towels and really comfortable beds. Lovely to look out and see the stream right next to the cottage and we saw a few red squirrels in the trees. A lovely pub at the bottom of the lane which sold great food and did take aways as well. I would definitely recommend. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

Perfect cottage.
Perfect cottage. Very clean and well equipped, lots of thoughtful touches. Beds were super comfy. In quiet country village with short walk to pub serving excellent food. The star of the show has to be the conservatory. We spent hours looking out of the huge picture window watching the wildlife - although sadly for us the red squirrels were in hiding! The layout made it great for a group with plenty of room for everyone. Would be very happy to book again.

The cottage was wonderful in both location and quality, I look forward to returning and relaxing there again. My only notes of caution are for people with limited mobility, firstly the stairs are steep and care should be taken especially in stocking soles, secondly, although there is a downstairs shower-room there is a high (c 12 inch) step into/out of the shower which may cause issues, finally, access through the front door has a high step, however there is easy access across the grass to a path that leads to the back door.

Lookin How is very deceptive in reference to size when looking at this photograph,it is actually a very spacious cottage. If you are looking for a peaceful holiday you couldn't choose a better cottage and location. The only sound we heard during our stay was that of the Beck which runs at the side of the cottage. The view from the conservatory and kitchen is so beautiful, the Beck, trees and hills so relaxing. The kitchen is well equipped and looks out onto a patio area. The bedrooms are spacious with very comfortable beds which have very warm quilts to keep you cozy at night. The lounge is light and airy with four windows and decorated with relaxing colours. I would highly recommend this cottage.

This is a lovely, spacious cottage and a pleasure to stay at.
This is a lovely, spacious cottage and a pleasure to stay at.We were 3 generations so it worked really well. The setting is wonderful and sitting in the conservatory had a lovely aspect with the trees and the running water in view.First time I had been to Ullswater and we had really good weather to enjoy the scenery. We were sad to leave as it makes a wonderful home from home. The owners are to be commended for making it feel this way.

This cottage is in the most beautiful location with water and woodland visible from the conservatory
This cottage is in the most beautiful location with water and woodland visible from the conservatory. Even with bad flu bugs we could enjoy the red squirrels and bird life. The house is deceptively large, cosy and comforting and generously and exceptionally well equipped I'd move in in a heart beat. Stunning local walking, great pub nearby and shops not too far if you need or want them.

This is the second time we have stayed at Lookin How and have had another wonderful holiday.
This is the second time we have stayed at Lookin How and have had another wonderful holiday. If you are looking to completely wind down in idyllic surroundings with fantastic walks directly from the cottage and with great food and drink at the bottom of the road at the Royal Hotel then this is the venue! There are so many things to do locally it is not possible to name them all but consider the walks to Aira Force, Douthwaite Head and Gowbarrow Summit. Take a trip on the boat across Ullswater from Glenridding to Pooley Bridge. From the cottage conservatory we saw Red Squirrels on 3 occasions and watched a family of 6 chaffinches on the patio. Visit Keswick especially on Thursday (market day) for local produce and tearooms. Penrith for the larger supermarkets - Aldi, Morrisons, Sainsbury's and the wonderful Booth's. Don't miss the amazing fudge from the Toffee Shop in Penrith. I could go on and on but don't just take my word for it come and see for yourself - you won't be disappointed! Do remember though, the Lakes are there because it can rain - sometimes!!
