Situated in the Lake District National Park in the beautiful countryside of the Lowther Valley, Smithy House offers guests the opportunity to be tucked away in a delightful rural village, Bampton Grange, while also being easily accessible to the M6, Ullswater, Haweswater and the surrounding area.

The popular village pub, just a stroll away from the property, is often an overnight stop for walkers coming across from the shores of Haweswater.
Haweswater sits in the Mardale Valley, just a few miles away, and enjoys much praise for its breathtaking scenery, with rugged high fells and fast flowing streams. Red deer and peregrines can be spotted, until recently Haweswater was home to England’s last golden eagle.
Just a short drive away, guests can enjoy the delightful North Lakes villages of Askham, Pooley Bridge and Glennridding along the shores of Ullswater, with the popular market town of Keswick always worth a visit. Lowther Castle offers guests a year round calendar of events in magnificent surroundings. Beach 36 miles.
