Enchanted Cabin-Seasonal View of Ouachita River

Peaceful, secluded 900 sq ft cabin, one of four in our private resort.
1,000 ft of River frontage.  On site canoeing, kayaking, river tubing, swimming, fishing, hiking, horseshoes, volleyball, basketball, tether ball.
Near crystal mining, horseback riding, biking, hiking, ATV trails.  Shuttle service available.  Pet Friendly-$15 per pet per night paid at resort.   Nothing is better than sitting around a campfire, roasting marshmallows under a star-studded sky away from city lights.  We invite you to come out and unplug, but our cabins do have Wifi (it's not super-fast, but you can check emails, scroll through Facebook or Instagram, or connect for Wifi calls and texts on your cell).  A large selection of games are available for you to borrow in our office.       Canoeing the Ouachita River at any time of the year offers visitors a chance to view   towering rocky bluffs and riverbanks sprinkled with wild flowers while winding through the rugged and undeveloped National Forest.  The pleasant temperatures and brilliant seasonal color displays of fall and spring, the cooling and refreshing effect of moving water and shade trees during the heat of summer, make March to November the most popular times to enjoy this trip. The family-friendly river flows casually past massive rock bluffs shaded by tree-lined banks and slopes.       Free of commercial development, the Ouachita is a gentle river with occasional Class I-II rapids separated by flat-water pools.  Fishing is excellent, with an abundance of bass (mostly smallmouth, largemouth and spotted), bluegill, catfish, green and longear sunfish, walleye and any number of other species.      Mother Nature blessed the Ouachita Mountains with the most beautiful quartz crystal in the world.  Mount Ida is known as the "Quartz Crystal Capital of the World".  We welcome all rock hounds, both amateur and professional.        Womble Trail, Ouachita Trail,  and Lake Ouachita Vista Trail are nearby EPIC mountain biking and hiking trails.  There are other secluded, forest trails such as Fourche Mountain Trail, available for exploring on your ATVs.  Just a few feet away from your cabin are short trails into the National Forest.        We are located near one of the darkest sky places in Arkansas and you can easily see the Milky  Way.  You will see fireflies in season and you might catch sight of an occasional Bald Eagle, Blue Heron or Road Runner.  "Enchanted" cabin has a bit of a retro vibe and welcomes you to kick back, unwind and relax in the comfort and privacy of your own cabin.  You’ll have the space to yourself and will only share it with those you’re traveling with.  While you are staying with us you can forget about any worry you may have in the real world and just live in the moment.
Only one of our four cabins is visible from your cabin and it is 130 ft away.   You are on the banks of the scenic Ouachita River which is 450 ft away with easy walk or drive down access. You are in the middle of the Ouachita National Forest and the nearest red light is 35 miles away,  but Mother Nature in all her splendor is only 35 seconds away.  If you want to get "away from it all", this is the place for you.  We live on site in our home/office and are available  to assist you if you need help with anything from starting a fire to answering questions about where to go and what to see.  We have a very small store and try to stock the necessities including ice, river shoes and basic food supplies.  We are in the middle of the Ouachita National Forest on the banks of the scenic Ouachita River.   There is not a red light in our county.  If you want to get "away from it all", this is the place for you.
Just a few feet away from your cabin are short trails into the National Forest.

Great place to stay for nature lovers!
It was a wonderful experience with the new owners. We stayed in the middle of a change, and I am very happy with our stay. My husband and I with our 4 kid's. We went mining and into Hot Springs for go karts and zip lines. Pet friendly is such a plus because our dog Maya is a part of our family too and she was welcomed too🐕❣️ God Bless😊

Great Location
Property is right by the river and Ouachita National Forest. In warmer weather it’s the perfect spot for tubing and canoeing. In cooler weather there’s tons of hiking nearby. The owners are very accommodating and helpful!

Beautiful views!
Was disappointed in the cleanliness after reading reviews. Did have a huge problem with cats. Overall it wasn't a bad experience. The owner and manger were very nice and responsive. Great views from back deck.

Fabulous Stay!
We loved our stay. The cabin was clean and had everything we needed. The owner was exceptionally friendly and answered all of our questions. We spent time at the river searching for rocks. We took walks around the property and build a fire. We explored the area and dug for crystals. It was hunting season and the owner warned us about hiking in the national forest without wearing orange was a bad idea. We are making plans to return in the spring.

Ouachita River Haven
My sister and I enjoyed every bit of this place! Jan and the other staff of the property were so kind and generous! They take their time to go over the property and what the area has to offer. The cabin was fully functioning and cozy. The best part was its right on the river and they take you to where you need to go for kayaking or tubbing.

Great stay at a beautiful spot
The resort was peaceful and beautiful. There had been a lot of rain and the river was high, so we did not get to enjoy the river activities as much as we may have liked, but we spent time walking the land and exploring. Our son really enjoyed fishing, catching lizards and snakes, and seeing what a VHS player was. The amenities were great as well, with everything we needed to relax and enjoy as though it was our own cabin. The kitchen had all the utensils we needed, the porch was a favorite place to relax after the day was done and the bedroom was clean and neat. Our main goal was to do some quartz mining and Jan was very helpful in pointing out directions and places to go. The resort is close to the Wegner mine and you can find interesting rocks out on the paths as well, if that is your thing. All in all it was a great place and I would certainly look to go back next time we are in the area.

This was a wonderful place to get away from the world and rest in God’s glory. It was so peaceful and it felt like time went backwards 20 years. We even watched VHS movies. Jan and her team are very nice and tended to our needs immediately.

Excellent Getaway
This is a nice secluded place by the Ouachita river. The cabin was very cozy and had everything we needed for our family with little kids. Fully equipped kitchen, lots of toys and games, books and movies that can be borrowed from the office. They have everything you need in the office even if you forget something. We borrowed a waffle maker too! We did grilling by the deck and also setup campfire and had smores while watching so many fireflies in the night. The river is beautiful and calm and we did canoeing and the children were able to play safely in the water. The staff was very helpful, Mr. Travis helped my kids with fishing and they caught their first fish and they were very excited! Overall, an excellent getaway :)

Perfect place to unplug!
We enjoyed our stay very much even though the river was too high to enjoy. The cabin was very comfy and a great place to hang out. The grounds there are wonderful and we enjoyed the swing area. We had fun playing games and laughing on the covered deck. We enjoyed watching the birds and squirrels too.

Beautiful/Family friendly
We had a great weekend. I was pleased at how clean our cabin (#3) was. Jan was very informative with the trails that we were interested in going to. We will be coming back with our kids on the next trip. I was also very impressed at how the bath towels smelled (yes, that sounds weird) because most places you stay at have towels with a strong bleach smell. She definitely takes pride in making sure things are nice and clean. If you are looking for somewhere that is clean...then this is your place.
