"We couldn't have picked a better place to stay. This apartment was even better than we hoped. Everything was immaculate, the location was perfect. Yes, there was a little noise at times, but you are right in the middle of town and so that is to be expected - it certainly wasn't a problem. the manager, Rafael, was excellent and arranged a driver from the airport and then on to our next destination, Mindo. The driver, Emerson, was probably the safest driver in Ecuador! All in all, I would recommend this place to anyone wanting to stay in the magical town of Cotacachi. "

"We are visiting the cloud forest of Ecuador for three weeks, This is our first visit to Ecuador. We stayed at Cerro Campana for 6 nights, our second longest stay during our first trip to Ecuador. We wish we had stayed longer. Next time we will know better…The location is beautiful, The lodge is perched high on a hill with views all around. A four-wheel drive vehicle is highly recommended for the last stretch up to the lodge. The entrance road is directly across from the entrance to Maquipucuna Reserve.Birding is great right from the restaurant area with multiple hummingbird feeders and a large banana feeder just a few feet from the building. All of the feeders are well-maintained. You can literally be a foot or two from some of the most beautiful hummingbirds imaginable. The lodge is run by Mirma Nieto and Mauricio Flores. Mirma is an unbelievable chef (three meals daily are included in the daily rate). We are both vegetarians and Mirma’s cooking more than accommodated our diets. And every meal each date was unique with a lot of local and traditional foods. It was all so good and plentiful. On top of that Mauricio is also a great guide and naturalist and his services are also included in the daily rate.The lodge is rented to only one group at a time. It was just myself and my wife our whole time there. At night we were completely alone. The location is not only beautiful but also quiet with the exception of bird songs, There are three bedrooms on the second "

"The property has an amazing view of both mountains and volcanoes. It’s a 10 minute walk into downtown where there’s ample shopping and dining. It is a three dollar taxi ride to La Mirage a must stop for exquisite dining! Breakfast was included and ample to start your day! Owner is fluent in English and is happy to assist your needs! Beautiful facility and a relaxing setting!! Totally recommend! "

"We rented the 3BR/3BA unit that is the entire upstairs level of Watzara Wasi. What an incredible and beautifully constructed place! The owner, Rolando, and his lovely wife and kids live downstairs. They allowed us complete privacy but were always available if we needed anything. We purposely chose to stay here, outside of the main area of Cotacachi, because we wanted to be in a more rural area with local people. Every day we heard the sounds of roosters, pigs, cows, and dogs instead of buses and trucks. Rolando's dogs and cat greeted us every day too! There are gorgeous views of Volcano Cotacachi from one side of the house and of Volcano Imbabura from the other. Everything was very beautiful and tranquilo, and we loved just hanging around the apartment because it felt so comfortable. As far as amenities go, the beds and couches are very comfortable and the showers have plenty of hot water and good water pressure. There is ample counter space in the kitchen. There is a washing machine downstairs that is shared with the family and a huge terrace to hang your clothes to dry. There are two fireplaces, which we didn't use, but which are beautiful nonetheless. Every day we walked about 30 minutes at a leisurely pace to go into town, where the shops, restaurants, and market are. $2 taxis were always available if we felt too lazy to walk back. Our stay was perfect!!"
