"When we arrived we saw immediately that the sofabed in the lounge was broken and could not be used to sit or sleep on, this was disappointing as it meant there were not enough beds for us all. "Late booking as our other hotel double booked us was fair but unfortunately with magic weekend on in Newcastle on a lot of hotels were full so unfortunately had to pay over the odds but would book again "

Lovely stay.

"We stayed one night. Excellent value for money. Rooms clean and tidy and very quiet when we stayed. Just one niggle was when checking in the lady mentioned it was an extra £5 each for a cooked breakfast, however this wasn’t stated on booking. I did mention and showed the confirmation email. She checked with another staff member and said it was fine and was included in the price. The cooked breakfast in the morning was excellent and couldn’t do enough for us. The lady serving the breakfast was very welcoming and friendly. Thank you. "

Beautiful 3-bed House in Chester-le-street

"Pros: Really good communication from host. Decorated nicely. Log burner (extra charge if using hosts logs). Milk in fridge. 8 minutes drive to Beamish museum. 4 minutes drive to a really good play park and splash area, by the river. Comfy beds and bedding. The accommodation was really clean. Shower heats up quick, large shower head. Dog bowls and biscuit treats - nice extra. Cons: Oven was broken by previous guest (on request, host was really good at providing air fryers). Beds not great if you're over 6ft tall. Shower area is quite small. An extra toilet downstairs would be a bonus."

Beamish Cottage Perfect for 2 a trip to Beamish Museum or work accommodation

"The location is first-class, apparently in the 'middle of nowhere', yet within a short journey of all the usual facilities. It's great for Beamish and the Tanfield Railway, which are very close by and not too far from Locomotion at Shildon. I ventured as far as the South Tynedale Railway, and enjoyable drive over the moors. The accommodation is to a very high standard and unlike B&B has the advantage of coming and going as you please. It's a working farm, though not noisy at all. The property manager lives across the yard, so any problems (not that I had any) are easily resolved. Overall I thoroughly enjoyed my stay in restful surroundings."
