Had a great stay. Place was as pictured, well equipped & cozy. Owners are fantastic people. Property is scenic (mountain range, pasture-land) and perfect place for R&R getaway.
Nice out of the way country home Clean, well organized and all amenities were provided. The hosts were welcoming and friendly. Close to the Chiricahua Mts for hiking and exploring.
We very much enjoyed the Sunglow Retreat. We saw so many animals and stars! The house was great. The views were spectacular front and back. Sharon and Rob were generous and kind. We hope to stay again sometime soon!
Excellent hosts and a perfect house for our party of 5. We were greeted with wine, homemade bread and fresh eggs upon arrival. Great access to Chiricahua, Fort Bowie, Coronado National Memorial, Tombstone, and Bisbee or just stay here and enjoy the view from the two lovely outdoor spaces. Wild deer, turkeys, and hummingbirds along with the resident horses, mule and donkey made for a wonderful, relaxing retreat!
This is the best getaway you can imagine. What you hear is crickets. What you see is mountains; all while enjoying a comfortable house and the perfect hosts. This was our second visit and we'll be back.
This was our second stay at this property in as many months. This is truly an oasis in the high desert. Great place to hang out with friends and to enjoy some local wine and dinner on the patio. Views are stunning, great star gazing and a monsoon lightning show. The house itself is very comfortable and has everything you need. We know we’ll be back for a 3rd visit.
We celebrated our 14th wedding anniversary at Sunglow Retreat and it was spectacular! We cannot recommend it highly enough. Close to the Chiricahua National Monument for easy access to the hiking trails, peaceful, quiet and beautiful. Rob & Sharon were helpful, responsive to all my questions and a joy to meet and talk with during our stay. If you're looking to unplug, relax and rejuvenate stay here!
This is a lovely, quiet place to spend time, with great access to all the wonders of the Chiricahuas. We had heard there were wild turkeys but actually counted 48 this morning! Amazing. House is really tastefully decorated, well maintained, has everything you need in the kitchen. Master bedrooms are separated by the living room which was great for us. Highly recommend!
The Sunglow Retreat is truly an amazing place. Hosts Rob and Sharon did everything right for their guests. Their cottage has all you need for a home away from home feel. It is nestled in a quiet and peaceful area with incredible views. It is a magical place with nature and wildlife all around. They are thoughtful, warm-hearted and friendly people. We truly enjoyed our visit and hope to be back!
Fascinating location- nicely set up house with everything we needed including lots of local information, fresh eggs, banana cake and local wine. Comfy beds. Very clean. Lots of turkeys and mule deer. Close to Chiricahua Nat Monument- a must, We also visited the Willcox playa, the ghost town trail, not far to Whitewater Draw (a birding must) and Tombstone. Good hiking.
This was the most amazing place! Our stay was absolutely perfect! The views were spectacular! The place was incredible and very clean! Loved the decor. Sharon and Rob were awesome. Loved feeding the animals, that was so special. Loved all the personal touches like Sharon’s banana bread, it was delicious! It was truly a trip of a lifetime. We will definitely be back!!! Thank you!!!!
The photos tell the story. Beautiful mountain vistas from the front patio, gorgeous sunsets from the back patio. The house is clean and comfortable, the kitchen good-sized and well-equipped (don't forget to bring groceries), and the beds provide a good night's sleep. Rob and Sharon are a lovely couple, and greeted us with wine, fresh eggs, and delicious banana bread upon our arrival. There is a dirt road that leads to the property, which is typical for the area. A scenic 30-minute ride to the entrance of Chiricahua National Monument. Good wi-fi, too.
If you are looking to get away from the city hubbub but still want all of the comforts of home, this is the place.
Very comfortable home with all of the amenities like good Wi-Fi, tv, coffee provided, as well as a bottle of local wine, eggs and homemade banana bread. Sharon and Rob were so accommodating. Plus, if you love nature, you will enjoy seeing many deer, turkey, and javelina every day. And you must meet Frijoles, the rescue donkey. He’s a hoot!
We had a wonderful stay at Rob and Sharon’s beautiful property. The views from the house are spectacular and we spent as much time as possible enjoying them from the patio. The house itself was spotlessly clean, well stocked, and very comfortable. We chose to stay here hoping for a peaceful couple of days away from our busy work lives and that is exactly what we got. This is also a great location from which to enjoy the nearby Chiricahua National Monument, Fort Bowie, wine tasting, hiking, birding and star gazing. Rob and Sharon were also perfect hosts - a bottle of local wine, homemade banana bread, and fresh eggs were waiting to be savored! We highly recommend this getaway and we’re already looking forward to making a return visit.
This house is a little piece of heaven tucked away near the Chiricahua National Monument in SE Arizona. The owners, Sharon and Rob, are great hosts and go the extra mile to make sure your stay is excellent and memorable. This was our 2nd stay at their home, and both times we found a dozen fresh eggs in the refrigerator from their chickens. They also rescue horses, mules, donkeys and these amazing animals will often greet you just beyond the spacious patio. If you plan to be in the area - better yet, plan a trip to SE Arizona, be sure to stay at Sharon and Rob's place. You won't be disappointed. The home is beautiful, well-equipped and peaceful.
This guest house is thoughtfully designed, well-stocked and in one of the prettiest, quietest spots you can imagine. Yes, it is a bit remote but that is so worth it! Nestled deep in the Southeastern corner of Arizona, you can reach any number of interesting places by car while staying at this house or just chill, watching the rescue horses and the hills. The stars at night are amazing. The hosts are the best we have dealt with and we enjoyed visiting with them one evening on the patio. We plan to go back soon. It's a lovely spot.
Everyone owes it to themselves to check out southeastern Arizona. In the shadows of the Chiricauhua mountains, this beautiful home sits near a large, grassy pasture where rescue horses, donkey, and mule call home. This home is definitely off the beaten path, but worth the drive down the dirt road. The home itself is beautiful and comfortable. All kitchen ammenities are provided and the bathrooms are a nice size. Probably the best part of the home are the 2 large patios that are well equipped with enough chairs for everyone to enjoy the beautiful scenery. We will definitely be back!!
