Head up to our creek cabin!

Nested in the trees, on Christopher Creek, enjoy the opportunity to leave your troubles behind in comfortable summer temperatures. Create memories with your friends and family while sitting (napping?) on the deck as the water bubbles by. If you prefer to move around, there are many hiking trails outside the cabin door, also a short 15-20 minute walk to local restaurants.

This double A frame cabin has one bedroom on the main floor with a full-size bed and a set of bunk beds. The TV room has a pull-out couch, the loft upstairs has a Queen. Two adorable bathrooms with claw foot bath tubs for leisurely soaks, (one has a shower). Towels and sheets are provided.

Kitchen is stocked with pots, pans, blender, waffle maker, coffee and tea provided, basic spices and condiments.

There are two sitting areas on either side of the house allowing separate time for kids and adults; the yard is fenced, dogs (maximum 2) under 30 lbs. each permitted. The fence is pretty short in some area's (~30") which should be taken into consideration.

The temperature can fluctuate during the day in the summer months. We have two split unit HVAC units if it gets warmer in the afternoons. For cooler weather, the same units provide heat.

Your children are welcome, please note the deck and spiral staircase to the loft have open railings and are not child-proof.

We offer WiFi, the TV is available to play DVD's with a small selection provided, or rental options available in the supermarkets in Payson. The Roku is available in guest mode to allow sign-in to your favorite streaming services.

Verizon has a cell tower in the area providing cell service to the neighborhood.

If you have an electric car, we have a NEMA 14-50 plug available for charging.

Nice Home Near the Creek
We enjoy our stay near Christoper Creek. The access to the creek in the backyard was a big reason why we wanted to stay here. Everything we needed to cook with was provided in the kitchen. The couch is a bit smaller than expected. There is a mouse issue in the kitchen that we contacted the owners about as we noticed a bag of our bread on the ground the next morning with a hole in the back of it, so then we stored all the food in the fridge that was on the counter. The second time it was inside the trash can. There is a hole in the wall in the kitchen that is very noticeable that something is living in there.

Cabin Stay
We had an amazing time at this cabin! We saw elk every morning from the front yard and elk in the evening in the creek. We were able to walk to the little market and the Landmark as well. The cabin was perfect for our little family and we enjoyed our stay tremendously!

Cozy gem
Co•zy. “giving a feeling of comfort, warmth, and relaxation” is the perfect description of this little gem. My husband and I stayed for a few days mid-week and it was super quiet with a family of elk that roamed the neighborhood. We sat on the deck and listened to the creek, went to the nearby lakes and cooked meals in the well stocked kitchen. We thoroughly enjoyed our relaxing stay. The hosts were great to communicate with and we would highly recommend staying here if you are lucky enough to find it open.

I expected more spiders
Based on the reviews and the listing, I expected a lot more spiders but my guests and I only saw two. Lots of spider webs outside, but it was to be expected given we were immersed in the natural environment. The view from the cabin porch was amazing and my 4 year old had lots of fun playing in the water and it was amazing having direct and private access to the creek. No need to pack up to go play in the water here. The kitchen and house had everything we needed and there was a general store open close by. The shower was a bit awkward since it’s built into a claw foot tub and is definitely not accessible to anyone that might have issues climbing in and out of a very tall tub. Same with the bunk bed - the top bunk was not accessible for adults who don’t feel adventurous as there was no ladder. The room with the bunk bed isn’t well-ventilated, either, but all in all those would be the largest complaints. We all really enjoyed our stay. I do want to extra reiterate that the cabin is definitely not child proof. The porch railings do not have a middle lateral rail and even though we were watching my 4 year old very carefully, he went to lean on the rail and fell right off the porch, head first 4 feet down. He was extremely lucky and only scraped his face. If there was one improvement I had to choose for this cabin, it would be to install another lateral rail to fill in the gap to make it safer for all. I would stay again! Thank you!

Perfect retreat from the heat
My husband and two adult daughters stayed in this lovely cabin right on the creek for a weekend. The cabin had plenty of room for the four of us, was very well equipped and was very clean. We appreciated that the outdoor furniture was covered as it was raining when we arrived. It allowed us to be able to enjoy the deck after the rain stopped. The cooler weather, beautiful surroundings and sounds of the creek were exactly what we were looking for.

Peaceful Birthday Retreat
We came up from Gilbert for my birthday. All I wanted was to wake up to the sounds of nature and a gurgling creek. This home did not disappoint. It's a quaint little place right on Christopher Creek. We spent our entire weekend on the deck enjoying the sounds of birds and flowing water by day and listening to the thunder storms in the evening. There's a little store within walking distance in case you left something at home. There's also a couple of dog-friendly restaurants close by. Overall, we very much enjoyed our stay. I don't think the photos do the home justice.

Cool and relaxing escape from the city
Lovely home with well stocked kitchen, wonderful deck in the cool pines. Each morning I enjoyed the burbling brook with my coffee, knitting, and the sound of birds. We took hikes in the area and relaxed in the evening after making dinner in the well appointed kitchen. Soaked in the tub after hikes. Highly recommend.

Relaxing Weekend
Love the location of this cabin, it’s right on the creek. It was nice sitting on the back porch in the morning to enjoy the creek while drinking my coffee. Also within walking distance to a few restaurants and the little store. There’s a little bridge to cross the creek a little ways down the road. Very close to several lakes and hiking trails. We went paddle boarding at a few lakes in the area while here. Went for walks in the evening and saw elk every time.

So good I almost don't want to share
This place is incredible. The location is wonderfully serene, right on the creek. The kitchen has plenty of room for multiple people to help prep, and all the utensils, cooking tools, and dishes you could need. There are thoughtful details throughout including spare hats, hiking and tourist information, board games and puzzles, room dividers, phone charging stations, clothes washer/dryer with detergent, and many others too numerous to mention. This is a lived-in and much-loved building. Bear in mind that as an A-frame building with wood floors, it is impossible to exist stealthily in the building. The floor will squeak when walked upon, and any conversation in the loft will be perfectly audible to people in the common areas. The building also settles at night. Also, the loft is significantly warmer than the rest of the house unless the air is well-circulated with the provided fans. With those small caveats, this is an amazing place to unwind and enjoy the smell of the pine and the burbling of the creek outside.
