Pack your patience
I’ve rented on VRBO for years. Never had this many issues with a rental or host. I tried EVERYTHING to let it go and chalk it up maybe inexperience but issues kept going beyond rental1. Check in instructions were incorrect.2. Every issue took multiple attempts to reach host for EACH issue3. I primarily used the app for interactions with host but notifications weren’t coming through so that was on VRBO not the host but so glad I had PROOF of each issue.4. Master bed room was missing a cable and remote at check-in. Let the host know and she gave me a handy man’s # but I was in town to care for my sick father whom I had to take to ER Christmas Day so I could not add that to my list of things to do. We just did without.5. No book of “house rules” or instructions with check out expectations.6. Dirty dishes pulled from cabinets multiple times so we washed everything we used.7. Took time to find onsite trash and took trash out as courtesy at check out and host charged additional fee for “excessive dirtiness “???While she did ask about my father I got multiple messages after the rental asking where a remote was that she never provided in the first place.Then asked how many stayed at the property. Initially it was going to be 4 adults but it sleeps 6 so I allowed additional 2 nieces to come since Christmas was interrupted with their grandfather going to ER!!VRBO even said the host was wrong to charge an extra fee and returned it but this WAS NOT worth the HASSLE.
