"We were ten adults and seven children under the age of 12, including an infant. The place is huge, with a lot of space for getting together or spreading out. It has a ton of seating options for eating and board games. The game room was a hit with everyone and is separated enough that the kids could get loud without disturbing anyone on the other side of the house, including the baby. The outdoor options: private playground, large hot tub, firepit, and pier were excellent. The house also sits on a hiking trail that we took advantage of in the peak fall colors. There is not much going on in the town of Phelps, but Eagle River is nearby with great restaurant options. We struggled a bit with the patio doors but figured it out (pull UP on handles like the signs say). We celebrated an early Thanksgiving, and the kitchen including double oven, was perfect for preparing a big family meal. This is also important, as others have mentioned: the listing says 5 bedrooms, but the house has only 4 private bedrooms that have doors. The fifth bedroom is a common living-room type space with a bunkbed and two couches in it, and there's a pullout bed in the theater. I did not read the reviews well enough and this would have been a dealbreaker for us if we had understood correctly, as we wanted all adults to be able to have a private bedroom. We had to get a second rental because of this, which was okay. Still had a great time and look forward to coming back. Great memories. Thank you! "

"Place was clean and beautiful. Nice amenities—pool table, video games, board games, ping pong, tvs, comfy beds, everything was perfect. We didn’t catch a single fish in the lake but saw a lot of trout. Beautiful lake for kayaking, canoeing, playing in. We brought our boat to another lake daily and caught lots of fish. The stay was perfect. The only thing I wish we would’ve had more of was dish cloths. There were no wash cloths for the kitchen, but there was a sponge. If you’re staying with a lot of people or for an extended amount of time (we were 19 people for 8 days), grab some extra TP. Overall 10/10 stars for everything. Thanks for a great stay!"

"We loved our week at the cabin and hiking the old growth forests of the Northwoods and U.P.! The cabin is spacious and well equipped with all that you need for a relaxing stay. The night sky is brilliant plus we had the bonus of experiencing the northern lights during three nights of our stay! Chris is a responsive host but we really had no issues throughout the week. We hope to return in the future!"
