Grand Sole closed for renovation
The hotel was closed without any notice. When I arrived I noticed a sign informing us to contact Imperial Hotels and Resorts. A bit of an inconvenience to walk to Imperial with our luggage having arrived in a taxi...

Clean, but old.
The Hotel is clean, but dated. It needs a refurbishment. The room was ok, but having a shower in the bath is a pain, and can be dangerous, if you slip when you step out of it.The sunbeds need some cushions, as they are uncomfortable. One of the staff should come round and ask if you want to order drinks or food. The person giving out the towels was grumpy, and needs customer service training. The hotel is centrally located, but I would only stay there again, if my preferred hotels in that area were unavailable.

Good hotel for the money you pay. Beach was about a 5 min walk and walking st was about 10-15. Rooms were spacious but the toilet had a hard time flushing anything down.

Run down motel on steroids
From outside looking in looks great the lobby is an illusion to the horrible place you will live.as I walked out the elevator the carpet alone told me the room will be horrible then upon walking in my room the bathroom had rust every where I literally wore sandals to shower the ceiling had water spots and was peeling the toilet took about a min in a half of holding the handle to flush everything down the tub was rusted and you could see visible mold in the cracks

Dissapoinment
We had a bitter experience there.when we reached the bell boy did not even offer to pick up our luggage.they even locked us inside the pool area immediately at closing time and did not even offer towels so that we could dry ourselves and go to our room. When we checked out they had exchanged a towel for one which had a mark on it and then fined us heavily for it .We bathed in the pool so we used pool towels , that was a mood dampening experience. The breakfast buffet's closing time was surprisingly 10 o'clock only and they also start cleaning up the food at 9:45 a.m..

Disappointing stay
The room was stale and stark and had black mold all over room. Pigeon fecal matter was over the windows ledges in clear view that made me feel very uncomfortable to the point was I left the hotel and got a new one.

I would like to express my unhappiness encounter during our check in on the 14th Oct around 4.30pm. The check in staff was friendly but the supervisor whom wore a jacket was very unfriendly. Her response to my husband's inquiries was very unfriendly. As her english was not very accurate in her pronuciation, I asked her again and she replied in a very loud and unfriendly tone. It gave me an impression that she is racism as we are Asian but please take note that I am a Singaporean whom can speak fluent english. I would expect a response from the hotel on why a service staff at the front desk who represent the image of a hotel could acted so rudely to a customers whom brought in 6 rooms? Otherwise I would rate the hotel badly in the internet.

Not the first choice
I stayed here because I left it too late to book a room at Nantra de boutique hotel where i usually stay. The Grand Sole is a large hotel----easy to find and conveniently located one block back from the beach. Check in was slow because they checked my passport and found I was one day over my visa . It was referred to the manager who decided i wasn't an international criminal or flight risk and let me stay there. Room was dated but comfortable. Good aircon. and a view of the sea. Breakfast was a bit limited (n0 eggs) but ok. For one night stopover i would go there again

Pattaya in May
My grilfriend and I booked a two week stay in The Grand Sole in early May. It was our first trip to Thailand we found the hotel and flight for a bargain price. The hotel was easily reached from Bangkok airport after a taxi journey of just under two hours. The Grand Sole itself was actually quite pleasant. The hotel staff were efficient and friendly, with the reception manned 24 hours a day. The buffet breakfast, whilst being nothing to write home about, was as good as that in most other hotels. The room was clean and comfortable, with all the facilities that were needed. The hotel also had a pool, coffee shop and in the evenings a bar and restaurant, we did not use these but they all looked to be of a good standard. The location of the hotel, by Pattaya standards, is reasonably quiet. It is set a little way back from a constantly busy road, but from our room this was not intrusively noisy. Also while it is within an easy walking distance of bars there were no "noisy" bars near enough to be heard. The main advice I would give before booking here is to read a little about Pattaya itself. As a resort it is very lively, noisy and often brash. I knew this before booking and thoroughly enjoyed my stay. If you want to let your hair down and enjoy a hedonistic trip then this may be the perfect place, if you are looking for a peaceful retreat, then perhaps not.

Grand Sole
Very old style hotel in need of refurbishment, noticed lots of mould on the ceilings in the hallway leading to the rooms on the level I stayed on, breakfast was poor compared to other hotels that I have stayed in at Pattaya, I wouldnt stay here again, I guess the hotel is ok for the budget conscious.

Nice stay
Very nice hotel, very clean room and was surprizingly big. staff was very pleasant , english was not spoken by many of the staff ,but all of them tried to please. I was the only American at the hotel, everyone was Russian and most of them were friendly and spoke better English than I spoke Russian. Overall a great stay. if you are looking for a hotel within walking distance of everything, this is a excellant choice. Only drawback would have been a pool bar . service to the pool was a bit slow and the sun at the pool goes away around 2pm because of location of the pool.

Surprisingly comfortable and nice, especially for the price.
Grand Sole is a perfect hotel to stay at while visiting Pattaya. It's location is ideal. Just a two block walk from the beach and shopping. It's location on 2nd road is ideal, as many baht buses travel down 2nd road at all hours. And baht buses are the way to get around Pattaya. There's a 7Eleven about 30 feet away. Which was great for buying water and snacks when needed. Housekeeping was dependable, trustworthy and friendly. I used Grand Sole's laundry service and it was prompt service. And they even hung my cleaned clothes in my rooms closet. The pool looked nice, although I didn't spend any time using it. The restaurant at the hotel was nice. And although I never saw anybody use it while I was, they offered prompt service and excellent food! Not all the staff at the front desk spoke much English. But, when the staff there could not understand my need, they called in another staff member that did speak adequate English to communicate. I will stay at Grand Sole again!

Just a very average hotel
Don't let the large, grandeur exterior looks fool you. The hotel goes down hill as long as you enter the large lobby. It has that outdated, tired looks over the places. The room is even worse; it is not dirty but is so old with cheap furniture. They still use that old style bulky room key to enter the room and deposit it at the front desk whenever you leave the hotel. The breakfast is a joke. It features only 4 main items: Asian fried rice, Thai fried noodles - both barely have any meat in them. Western items include some sausages and bacons; that is it! To be fair, it has many (cheap?) items like breads, salads, tropical fruits, juices...Althought I did not use it, the hotel has a large swimming pool. It seems like the majority of customers are Russians
