Our airstream is nestled on the Songs vineyard in the rugged Santa Lucia mountains West of Paso Robles along one of Paso's best wine trails (Peachy Canyon Road).
*** PLEASE NOTE: We are currently re-planting and there are no vines in our vineyard. *** You will feel as though you're hours away from humanity, yet you’re just 12 min from downtown Paso Robles and about 1/2 an hour from several beach towns. The Airstream shares the property with our winery (Songs), which focuses on Bordeaux and Rhone varietals. Several other highly rated wineries are just minutes away! We also have a 3 bed/2 bath home available for rent on the property which sleeps 6 and can be rented through VRBO as well. The perfect place to stay for a Wine Country get away!
In addition, we own the winery Bodega de Edgar which is located on the East side of Paso Robles and focuses on Spanish varietals (Albarino, Tempranillo, and Grenache).
If you are interested in tasting at either location, please email tastings@bodegadeedgar.com to check for availability/make an appointment.
THE LOCATION
This "Airstream Experience" is situated on the edge of our small dry-farmed, head trained vineyard (as we are a working vineyard, vineyard conditions will change based on the season/planting phase we are in). Morning coffee and “sundowning" are experienced in a very quiet setting among vines, oaks, and country critters. You’ll likely hear raptors calling out in the daytime, and owls hooting at night. We have deer, mountain lions, wild boar, and coyotes in the immediate area, but the entire property is completely fenced so you will not have any face-to-face encounters with these majestic mammals.
In addition to our On-site Winery, Songs, there are 7 highly regarded wine tasting rooms just a few minutes away by car along Peachy Canyon Rd. (we are located directly across the street from Law Vineyards and tasting room).
THE SPACE
The 25’ Airstream “Safari" coach is equipped with a fridge, freezer, microwave, hot water, air conditioning, heater, etc. This is an Airstream, so the sinks are stainless steel and the faucets are chromed brass and steel, just like the fixtures you have at home. They are not flimsy plastic fixtures found in most RVs. The comfy couch has a fold-up extendable table if you want to eat inside or need a place to use your laptop computer. You will find drinking water in the fridge, and ice in the freezer. There is also a "coffee corner" featuring an easy to use Keurig coffeemaker with teas, decaf, full caf and hot chocolate pods, and creamers in the fridge. There are some munchies provided to get you started, but you’re advised to take advantage of the dining at the area's many fine restaurants.
GUEST ACCESS
Guests are invited to avail themselves to the Airstream and its immediate environs. You are also welcome to take a stroll along the country road, which we recommend first thing in the morning or prior to sunset. Guests are not to access any farm equipment or climb the hillside vineyard.
Check in time is at 3pm unless otherwise agreed upon in advance. If you wish for an earlier check in, please let me know at the time of booking and I will do my best to accommodate you.
COUNTRY LIVING!
A few things to note if you are not used to living in the country:
We love our wildlife! You will be surrounded by nature, from the sound of owls hooting at night and coyotes howling in the distance, to the birds chirping joyfully all day long. You may also be lucky enough to spot the flock of wild turkeys that roam Peachy Canyon Rd., the grey tree squirrels that seem to think they own the road, and the occasional bob cat & foxes that trot through the vineyard. As this is the country, it is also important to note that we do have little critters as well (mice) and although rare, they have on occasion made their way into the Airstream. Additionally, we are on a well system, so please be aware that occasionally there may be a slight sulfur odor which usually passes quickly. If any of this alarms you, please consider if Country Living is right for you. We think it's the best!
THE FINE PRINT
We ask you to acknowledge the following:
*Absolutely no pets.
*The coach has a microwave, but traditional “cooking” using the stove/oven is not allowed within the Airstream out of consideration for our next guests due to cooking smells lingering. We will provide a small outdoor grill if requested prior to arrival.
*There will be cars driving past the Airstream periodically as it shares the property both with another residence as well as a winery tasting room.
*This property - as well as those properties neighboring ours - are working vineyards and orchards. There may be seasonal noises associated with their operations.
*Every 1st and 3rd Friday of the month around 9:00AM a trash truck rumbles past to empty our dumpster and a landscape crew will periodically access the property for maintenance.
*There are steps to negotiate as you enter and exit the coach.
*The shower entry isn’t very large, but the enclosure feels surprisingly spacious once you're inside. Be aware, this is a camper so do not expect high pressure water volume as you would in a hotel or house.
*Cell service is spotty but works well once connected and calling through our WiFi
Lastly, please keep in mind that I am not a large hotel chain, rather I am a small business owner and you are staying in a private home, not a hotel. Guest stays are usually flawless, however there has been occasion when something unexpected and out of my control happens. If anything like this occurs during your stay, I will always go above and beyond to remedy the situation as quickly as possible. However, if this concerns you and you want the assurance of a hotel stay, I encourage you to do so.
