Secluded Cabin on 400 Acres: Swim, Hike, Fish, Relax, PLAY!

Our Owners are Maine Outdoors Enthusiast Professionals. They take a personal interest in every guest who rents the property to ensure that they get to experience Maine as it should be... We make every accommodation necessary to make sure you will come back again and again!

Imagine your own secluded hideaway located in the heart of more than 400 acres of undeveloped forests, ponds and streams, yet still within an hour's drive of all the best that Maine and New Hampshire have to offer... Hike, bike, swim, fish, enjoy the coastal beaches, local seafood, pick some strawberries or blueberries and so much more!

Conveniently located only 2.5 hrs outside of Boston and just over 6.0 hrs from NYC, this hidden gem offers a peaceful and serene experience with plenty of opportunity to take in the natural beauty that will surround you. Enjoy the rustic atmosphere in this beautiful log facility made from lumber harvested from the property without sacrificing all of the comforts that you need. Take advantage of boating, canoeing or fishing in one of the many ponds, lakes, rivers and streams, go for a hike on the Appalachian Trail or on just one of the closer and less traveled mountains, take a short drive to Mt Washington or to one of Maine's many coastal beaches and seafood eateries. To better your stay and optimize your outdoor experience we encourage you bring bug and/or tick repellent.

From the first hint of spring through the lazy days of summer, Maine is an outdoor wonderland. You can explore the coast, mountains, woods, rivers and lakes by kayak, bike or boat. Enjoy culinary treats that can only be found locally like blueberries and strawberries to Maine's clams, shrimp and lobster. Get to know the locals at a summer festival. With 17 million acres of Maine forest, and 400 acres at your fingertips, you are sure to experience all the outdoors has to offer. The winter months offer you snowmobiling right from the front door of the lodge.

It is JUST YOU AND NATURE! This wood cabin is located down a remote dirt road (approximately 1.2 mile from the main road) and is the only rental unit on the entire property, so you can be rest assured of a safe and quiet one-of-a-kind experience. The main building boasts an open kitchen and living area with commercial gas stove, dishwasher, refrigerator, cookware, utensils, full bath, heat and electricity. There is also a utility room that is equipped with a washer and dryer. A recreation building is available equipped with ping pong, professional pool table, air hockey, foosball table and darts in case of a rainy day or slow evening. There is also a fire pit set up adjacent to the picnic area. There is a queen bed and a single bed in the main bedroom, a full-sized bed in the second room and 2 sets of bunks in the room off the kitchen. There is a pull out couch that sleeps an additional 2. For larger parties (or those just seeking additional space), there is an adjacent bunkhouse house that can sleep eight (4-bunks) and is complete with its own fully functional bath (additional fees do apply).

Located on the property and only a short 1.4 mile drive down the camp road from the lodge you can enjoy access to our non-motorized water sports equipment (canoes and kayaks) on the private pond. Some life jackets are provided. Bring your fishing pole or fly rod for some catch and release. Enjoy jumping in the water to cool off on those hot summer days. Bring a packed lunch and sit on the picnic tables under the shade of the gazebo.

Enjoyed our stay
Got together with some men from church to seek God, read our Bible's, pray and fellowship. This was a great place to do all that.

Great getaway!
Property is as advertised and definitely off the beaten path. Watched a doe every morning in the swamp, from the table. Great space to hike, swim, canoe, smores around the fire, play games, read and just be where your feet are.

The property and amenities were just what we were looking for. Something rustic and off the beaten path. There were plenty of games, access to water and the fishing was excellent. Everything was clean, well stocked and communication was excellent. Will definitely return in the future!

If you are looking to get away from it all and have fun this is place to be! Super property, plenty of space for the family and the dogs. Game room barn is amazing! Also enjoyed time at the lake. Very peaceful! Great communication with the owners. Looking forward to a return visit hopefully in the not too distant future. You are going to love it here!

Just awesome!
What a location and accommodation! We stayed three nights with eight people of different ages. I can only warmly recommend this place to anyone. So clean! I’ve hardly seen that level at any other location. Will we be back? For sure, and for more than just three nights.

Fun fishing, woods, pool table. Great kitchen, super-clean place! An upgrade could be made on master bedroom mattress and bummer that the ping pong table was broken but otherwise, it was perfect. Thank you!!

Great stay
We stayed here as an extended family with 9 people and 3 dogs to celebrate my mother in laws 80th birthday for 5 days. It was great! The only thing was the road was more off the beaten path that we thought and a little scary for a minivan but we made it. It was so quiet and a great escape. The game room was a nice addtion but a little outdated. The pond was about 10 min drive (due to road) but a great way to cool off. We would for sure go here again! The hosts were nice and answered whenever we had any questions. Had a wonderful stay!

Amazing property, extremely accomadating hosts!
Very rare is it to find a rental property with 400 acres of land to yourself. Even more rare is it to find such amazing hosts! Jannah and Lorenda went above and beyond to ensure our stay unfolded seamlessly, even permitting us to shoot a short film on their property. The lodge offers a breathtaking view from the living room window, and the heating system worked great throughout our entire stay. The diverse range of amenities provided kept us engaged when we weren't immersed in our film project. The recreational building was a highlight, equipped with a variety of table games as well as the numerous trails that wind through its stunning landscape and various water features. The experience was truly worthwhile and conveniently close to Boston. We're already planning our return!

Good time
We had a fun weekend with friends. All 9 of us were able to stay in the main house. The kids and adults loved the game barn. The location is remote and quiet. I agree with other reviewers that a landline would be a good addition for emergencies, since there is no cell service. The kids enjoyed swimming in the pond, there’s a floating platform not far from shore. We used the fire pit for s’mores one night. There were a couple camping chairs in the house we could use by the fire pit, but some Adirondack chairs would be a nice addition. This was a good getaway for our two families.

Wonderful time off the grid
Spent a remarkable couple of days here with a group of graduating high school students. In the coming weeks they are heading off to their summer jobs, family vacations, and eventually college spread out far and wide. The property was perfect for them to put away their phones and spend quality time sharing dreams, fears, laughs, and simply being themselves without worrying about being too loud or it being too expensive. The buildings were extremely well stocked with all our basic needs - linens, towels, paper goods etc. Cell strength was spotty but we found a couple of spots outdoor to catch enough signal to send periodic messages back home. The bunkhouse was a bit stuffy initially but was easily remedied by opening up windows for a couple hours. The nearby pond was super fun as was star gazing and campfires. Communication with the hosts was excellent, they are super friendly and helpful. A wonderful choice for nature and wildlife lovers, will return hopefully for a reunion someday.

Absolutely Beautiful cabin
This listing was incredible. The cabin is spacious and comfortable, the property is secluded and absolutely gorgeous, and the activities both on and off the property were so much fun. The only downside we experienced was the driveway in, our little car was not happy with us, definitely needs an off road vehicle. We had an amazing time and we definitely want to come back for another stay!

Wonderful cabin in the woods
We rented the property to attend a local wedding with 10 adults and 4 kids. Property was amazing for our group. Playroom was a great distraction for the kids, and the bunkhouse perfect for the single adults. No WiFi or phone service forces us to put down our phones and enjoy hanging out.

Rustic Rental
We rented this cabin for a base camp for family wedding over Labor Day weekend. We enjoyed very much what little time we actually got to spend there. We are already planning a weekend trip next summer, and our plan is to stay and enjoy the very quiet setting, BBQing and making use of the fire pit. Cabin is well equipted, with everything you need. We very much enjoy the rustic setting. Thank You to our host Lorenda & Hannah. Can't wait till next year, will be in touch soon.

Awesome Woodsy Retreat!!!!
Little slice of heaven for the outdoorsy type. The cabin is located a little over a mile from the main road. (Bumpy dirt pathway.) Super peaceful and quiet. You can scream, hoot, and hollar and don't have to worry about your neighbors and if you're being too loud. My adult son's and their significant others as well as my husband and I really enjoyed the game room facility which fetaured pool, foosball, ping pong, darts, air hockey, and even a small childs' pool table and a fridge for the drinks. The beds were comfortable, place was clean, cabin was perfect for 6 adults. Nice walking trails - the only downfall would be the pond was a mile away - but if you plan for it and pack a lunch - it worked out well. (you can drive to the pond with plenty of parking.) The cabin has a lot of games and movies, they even have a fully stocked generous wood bin for the fire pit. Town is approx. 20 minutes ride. The Stars were amazing in the darkness. Just a fantastic relaxing family vacation. Lots of laughs!!! If your looking to just unplug from it all - look no further!!! (Cell reception Nil to spotty) Jennie D.
