Welcome to Round Lake Retreat!  Enjoy peaceful lakeside seclusion and pristine modern accommodations at this beautiful cottage on the Pike/Round chain of lakes. This cozy space features a beautiful, full, kitchen with open concept dining and living area boasting a beautiful lake view. With western exposure you are sure to enjoy beautiful sunsets! At the end of a busy day on the lake, relaxing or exploring the area, build a fire and kick back roasting marshmallows overlooking the water. Most likely you'll hear the loons in the distance and enjoy the breathtaking star filled skies. Spend time relaxing on the deluxe screened porch where you can open the windows to feel the breeze and simply kick back. When it’s time to hit the hay, find a king size master bedroom with gorgeous walk-in shower. The second bedroom has a queen and there is an additional half bath located off the common area. Laundry and shower are accessible through the master bedroom.

The frontage is level, and the swimming is great! Feel free to dock your boat (bring and use bumpers please) and take some time to make use of the canoe, rowboat and 2 kayaks. There is ample opportunity for silent sport exploration, boating, snowmobiling and everything in between. The boat launch is just down the street, catch the snowmobile trail right from the lake and the nearest trailhead is a short walk up the road. This area is surrounded by the National Forest, with the Round Lake primitive area trail system encompassing the north end of the lake; The trail system provides access to the 3600-acre Round Lake Semi-Primitive Non-Motorized Area. This unique area has numerous foot trails and old road grades totaling 11 miles.  Including a portage in wilderness lake and old growth forest. Visit the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest Round Lake Area website you can find more information for the area. Round Lake Retreat is the perfect getaway!

Please Note:
Electricity is available at the shoreline

solitude at its best
First time back to the Minocqua area in 30 years and it was exactly how I remembered it. Cabin was great perfect for a family of 4. Quiet lake barely saw any neighbors caught some fish. Would love to come back!

Excellent fall getaway
The house was awesome and stocked with everything you need, besides food. We wanted a quiet fall getaway and got just that. We would enjoy it in the summer too, I'm sure. We spent our days hiking, then went home to eat and enjoy the outdoor firepit. Our puppy enjoyed the property as well, especially the walk in beach access so he could swim.

Stunning property, every need was met
I cannot say enough about this property and the process of renting it. It was absolutely beautiful inside and out. The hosts thought of everything. Very comfortable inside and out. High end appliances, extremely comfortable beds, spotless and the best screen porch for coffee in the morning and drinks at night. The lake is beautiful. We caught a few bass and some northern pike. We will absolutely be staying at this propery again.

Quiet and Peaceful Getaway
Property manager contacted us just before our stay to make sure that we had received the code to enter and asked if we had any questions - very thoughtful. The property was perfect for 3 adults and one dog. Son was able to work remotely at the desk in the second bedroom. The dog loved to just sit and look out over the lake. Enjoyed hiking, running, biking and fishing. Fished off the end of the pier and was amazed by how quiet and serene the lake was. Never saw or heard any neighbors. Went to Lake of the Torches a couple of times. It is only 20-25 minutes away. There is a small grocery store across the street from the casino. The grill is a charcoal grill so be sure to have charcoal/lighter if planning on cooking out. The Big Dipper bar and grill down the road has an excellent and huge pizza. We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay, especially the dog!

Clean Cabin on Excellent Lake
The cabin was clean and well appointed. The cabin had all the modern amenities while still feeling rustic with that Northwoods charm. The kids had a blast on the kayaks and beach area. The beach area is actually a small sandy area and a pleasant surprise since wasn't seen in the photos. The screened porch is spacious with a ceiling fan and retractable clear plastic windows. The kitchen was well appointing and had sharp knives and real glassware, a rarity in short term rentals. But make sure to bring your own salt/pepper/spices. The only minor issue was the supply of TP, which is somewhat surprising if there is concern of what ends up in the septic tank. A couple of things to be aware of that do not detract or are negative about the cabin. - The water along this side of the lake is shallow for quite a ways out. Watch the depth before going on plane and maneuvering/docking a deep-v boat was tricky. - Since the water is shallow, the dock is LONG! (128'). I was able to make 75' of extension cord work to charge boat batteries, but wished I had 100' or more. There is an outlet a few feet away from the dock on shore. - There were a lot of mosquitos. I don't believe the property was treated with chemicals (which is good in my eyes) - The water has a tannin color to it. It's clean and fine for swimming, just know there are not many weeds and the weeds that are there don't grow deep. The weedline was in 5-6' FOW. - The boat traffic was fishing boats and pontoons
