We loved staying at Matt's apartment at the base of Park City Resort. It wasn't clear until we actually stayed how great it was to be so close to the resort. The apartment is a very short walk from the Pig Pen bar, where we would plant our skis and poles and walk home for lunch. It would have been impossible for us to be on time for ski school had we chosen to stay anywhere else. Avoiding having to take the bus gave us a time advantage (and avoided a lot of stress, we would find out when we did catch a bus). We just walked up to the ski school hire and meeting areas. Jackson's Ski Rental (book online) was just down the steps, and we bought dishwasher tablets, juice, sodas, eggs, and other essentials we hadn't already ordered in our grocery delivery from Food for Thought (note: expensive), which you could see straight out our window. The nights were frigid and when we didn't plan ahead and get delivery, we ate at Legends and Baja Cantina, which always had a table for us. Every day we returned to the apartment for lunch (groceries delivered in advance). All this is to say, when you are cold, tired, and hungry, have not made a reservation, need milk, or ski hire, or a new pair of gloves, the location is so, so important. We didn't use the parking spot, but used the pool a few times (note - it is behind Jackson's and you have to go outdoors to get to it). Make sure you bring quarters for the laundry ($1.75 to wash 1 load, $1.50 to dry 2 loads). I had to walk to the bank and back to get quarters - no where on the mountain will give you change. Any other issues are very minor - you will love this apartment - ideally suited to 4 or less, but we managed ok with 2 adults, 2 teens (one slept on the couch which was very comfy) and a 6 year old, and wouldn't hesitate to book again.
