I stayed at this hotel so I could catch a 06:00 Thalys train to Cologne. The hotel staff were friendly on check in, but during check out, they seemed to have some trouble confirming that I had pre-paid for the room, and were suspicious of my assertion that I had already paid. It appears they keep their reservations in a log book, not on a computer. The room itself was old and worn and got a lot of road noise. However, the bathroom had been recently renovated, which was nice (although the shower drain was blocked). The elevator is tiny as is the stairwell, it screams of fire hazard (but at least there were fire extinguishers on each floor--one right outside my room). Also, there was no deadbolt or chain on the door, which worried me a bit as I was a solo female traveler. I wouldn't recommend the neighborhood, it's very gritty, but it is well connected to public transit, and although there were many questionable characters hanging around outside, I never felt in danger.
