After we booked this room, we noticed the review about the mold and mildew. After contacting the rental company and voicing our concerns about the health risk and not wanting to be exposed to it, they assured us the problem had been addressed and fixed. They told us not to worry.
Big mistake. There is black mold growing on some of the corners if the living too, bedroom and on a large portion of the shower and grout. The pillows and comforter need to be thrown out. They are saturated with mildew. We requested that they be replaced as soon as we arrived. The whole apartment smelled strong. Thank goodness we could open the windows. Our request for new linens was ignored and we did not hear back from the rental company or the person they assigned to assist us during our stay. There was no top sheet to be between us and the comforter. With the windows open for air, we were a little chilly and got bitten by mosquitoes in the night.
We had to purchase hand soap, toilet paper and paper towels for the kitchen. There was one garbage bag for the kitchen and none for the bathroom.
There was 4 terry cloth towels for gage unit. We had to use 2 to sleep with under our head since the pillows are rancid. There were no cloth towels for the kitchen and no dish drain.
There are nearly 100 wood steps in a narrow spiral staircase to reach the unit. Some of the lights in the staircase were not working and we needed a flashlight for a section of them.
