"I went to Goa after 10yrs! Booked LA after landing. I wanted to stay in a typical Goan/Portuguese home instead of a hotel. LA everything I expected and more. From the ambience of restored charm, to the frinedly and helpful staff Jokin & Patrick were exception in guiding me to places, arranging transportation, to allowing me for a late check out. "Mateus had charm for sure and it is in the extremely picturesque Fontainhas neighborhood. Lots of photos to take just strolling around the area. However, there are some downsides about the hotel itself. One is that it is one of the many places in India where they push two twin beds together to make a supposedly queen or king bed. "We were moved to a different property called Casa Seaesta at the last minute as there was a “short circuit”. Even a two star rating is overrated for this property. The entire property is cheaply built and maintained. The pool photo on the website is from the adjacent property. The guests are smoking everywhere on the property including the restaurant. The guests are drinking booze in broad daylight. The staff are poorly trained and dressed. The fittings inside the room are old and cranky....

"One of the best experiences of service I have had. The team were very customer focused, knew their specialisms and were able to provide a very memorable stay. Riya and Nikita were stars for the whole stay and helped us with information and any requests we had. Deepak, Nitin, Malick and Thulsi were exceptional in the café/restaurant and always very attentive and served with a smile. Chef Vidhya was another star who even cooked special meals to allow us to taste some of her great food. Dattaram ensured we were looked after throughout our stay. The property has a great vibe and resort feel with lovely open areas and uses fans more than air conditioning, which provides that more traditional experience. The room we had was spacious and had a good view. The high tea is wonderful and has plenty of choices which vary daily. It was hard to fault this hotel and our stay except that we should have stayed longer!"

"Front desk was ok while check-in. Restaurant for dining and breakfast was amazing. Abhishek & Aman were 2 outstanding incharge at the restaurants on first floor that went out of their way providing excellent service. House-keeping was amazing. Great team. Keep it up"
