"We could not have dreamt of a better place to start our Sri Lanka trip. The place is beautiful, nested among trees at the end of a road and along the river. "Wonderful family and people and property. It is a budget hostel so please keep that in mind. Don’t expect something fancy. "The property is situated in a peninsula in Kalutara on a road with almost no traffic, a pleasant surprise in such a busy (and wonderful) city. The beach is lovely, but not swimmable because of strong currents. The room was large and bright. The washroom was clean, and the shower was awesome. "Although owner was very friendly helpful, I found the beds in the room very uncomfortable - really hard mattress and pillows and barely slept both nights so checked out early. The water pressure and lighting in the bathroom was very poor so struggled with brushing teeth and shower."

"We walked in an apartment with dust and dirt on the floor, mould behind toilet door, mould on kitchen glass tray. They said this apartment was closed for some time. Housekeeping staff should be trained to check on details. Would not recommend for families who are particular about cleanliness. The management needs to take feedback seriously without giving excuses for lapses."

"Our stay here was wonderful, the staff were very attentive and help us. The we asked to be soften but found it a little hard. The pool area needed more umbrella’s & sun lounges and some W pool music."

"Last minute family trip and chose Cinnamon Red. Family member had to work remotely and good wifi connection throughout the hotel. Room was clean and comfortable. Good location in that transport readily available, supermarket nearby and bar and coffee shops nearby. Would recommend Cinnamon Red."

"We flew into Colombo and reserved a pickup through the hotel. Although we were almost an hour late our driver was there awaiting us. Vehicle was clean and comfortable and the drive into the city uneventful. Upon arrival at the hotel we were made to feel more than welcome, checking was quick and we were shown to our room. Although it was smaller than most we have stayed in it was very clean and not rundown in appearance. The staff was more than helpful in providing an explanation if the area and directions to various places in the vacinity. Checkout was equally easy and transport made available to the cruise port. Anyone planning a trip to Colombo I would definitely recommend staying here. "
