Plenty of room for 3 couples so relaxing great property short walk to facilities would recommend. Host was friendly and provided breakfast on arrival was most appreciated thank you
We love Oaklands as it’s a really great place for families. Our kids love having so much space and taking walks down to feed the Donkeys is always a highlight.

was a magnificent mansion but sadly it was of need of care and attention.
Access was via a potholed road to the back of the house, which lacked any positive impresion as we were greeted by two very dirty rubbish bins outside the gate and then it only got worse when we opened the door and were overcome by a horrid musty old house odour. As for the stained mattress protectors on the bed, absolutely disgusting!! I only hope that these problems have been corrected for the people staying during the coming weeks.

Beautiful property, well situated to town, beach and cafe. People friendly everywhere we had dinner at local pub, nice also Candelo pub great meal also. Great day trips to other towns in vicinity, so much to do and see.
Very interesting old house which has been faithfully restored. Beautiful Australian cedar.
Kitchen area could have benefited with a heater as it was pretty cool. Otherwise very good.

Heritage beauty on the outside
The listing made it look and sound like it's a luxury getaway. But it's not. Really it's an old heritage building next to a farm. Beautiful on the outside, dark and basic on the inside. It's got a small lounge which means there isn't much of a communal area to relax in on rainy days. And the lack of oven definitely limited family
meals. Otherwise location and farm are great. Kids loved feeding the animals. Lots of nature on your doorstep. Great walks and cycling around Pimbula.

A Slice of History
The Homestead is an amazing historic house in a pretty setting. It is nicely furnished and we enjoyed sitting on the back verandah in the sun. The staff were very helpful in replacing the faulty TV the day after we checked in.
We understand that it is a very old house, and that there had been heavy rains recently, but the strong musty smell throughout made me feel ill and we left a day early. We kept all the screened doors and windows open 24/7 and it did improve during our time there, so perhaps the house could be aired prior to guests arriving.
The bathrooms and kitchen are in need of updating, and a good microwave would be useful, given that there is no oven.
The decorative touches and furnishings do provide a sense of grandeur and comfort, and it is an experience to stay here. We can understand why many people love it.
A magnificent homestead in a peaceful setting. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay & felt privileged to be able to stay in such a beautiful home. There was so much to explore in the near vicinity with beaches, National Parks & towns on your doorstep.
We’ve been to the homestead for five years in a row and absolutely love it. It’s incredibly peaceful and tranquil and surrounded by beautiful paddocks full of friendly farm animals. The homestead is such a unique property that has been lovingly restored in keeping with it’s history. There’s really nothing like coming back after a long day of sightseeing and sitting on the porch and watching the birds and other wildlife go by. Just up the driveway is the Oakland’s barn with a fantastic cafe, gallery and garden Centre, all run by incredibly friendly staff. We can’t wait to return to the homestead.
We've visited Oaklands Homestead twice now within the past couple of months. Its really family friendly and the kids just love exploring the gardens and walking up to see the animals. The house itself is very nicely furnished and has a lovely country / heritage charm to it.
We all had a wonderful time at this property! It was nice and peaceful, but only a short walk to the main street and a quick drive to the beach. The kids loved the property and feeding all the animals. We would highly recommend this property!
Our kids loved riding bikes around the property and feeding grass to the horses. Pambula has some great little eats and is a short distance to the beach which was perfect for kids. We didn’t visit the oaklands nursery, cafe or brewery adjoining the property, there were a few tourist buses pulling in. Thanks Claire for a very relaxing couple of days !
We have had the most relaxing weekend. The house is gorgeous and the gardens were just beautiful to wake up to with a cup of tea.
Thank you so much for a wonderful stay.

A very characterful property in a beautiful peaceful location.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Homestead. We loved the interior of the property and the surrounds, particularly the old oak and olive trees. Everything that we needed was provided.
We appreciated the book giving the history of the area. It was very interesting reading.
We used the Homestead as a base to explore Pambula and the northern part of Ben Boyd National Park.
We would certainly return to the Homestaed if visiting the area again.

Oaklands Homdstead is a beautiful original old Aaustralian Homestead with wooded garden .
Awaken to a chorus of birdsong and the lowing of grazing cows. Take your morning hot drink for a walk through the garden and say good morning to a horse wandering with the cows. The coffee shop at the event centre has marvellous breakfast served by cheerful folks, the nursery is laden with temptations. Arriving home after a day of sightseeing, call in at the brewery for an afternoon refreshment before returning to your homestead to watch TV, DVD, listen to music or hideaway in comfy corners to read and relax in total peace and quiet.

Wonderful Experience!
We enjoyed our stay at Oaklands; it was like stepping back in time. The owners had added many extra things to make the stay unique. We were so delighted to have Kangaroos in our front yard both evening and morning. The farm walk was lovely, and we purchased a painting at the art gallery on site.
