"The hotel is in a quiet rural area out of town. It would be beneficial if you have a car, but there is a good bus service and the bus stop is across the road from the hotel. When we were there the hotel was being renovated but we never found this a problem and everyone was very helpful, lovely staff."

"Very traditional 500 year old Tudor house. It’s beautiful. Has its quirks - sloping squeaky floors, uneven walls, nooks & crannies & so much history! The landlady is a fabulous baker, serving up all homemade mince pies, millionaires shortbread & a homemade bread as part of breakfast! She even makes her own jams & chutneys - I bought 2 to bring home. It’s like staying in a home from home. It’s warm, welcoming, cosy & so homely. Service, food, drinks all of the highest quality. Evening meal served in a really nice room, same as breakfast. The room I had was 205 and it was clean, comfy, spacious. "The accommodation was fabulous value for money. Very comfortable beds, warm rooms that can easily be aired by turning off the heaters and opening the balcony doors. Some people's comments about decor and the rooms needing upgrading isn't totally fair in our opinion. Some fittings are slightly aged but everything was safe and clean.
