"We were at The Carmel for 3 nights and they did not change the linen during our stay or make the bed. We didn't make a request but I had expectations that if guests were staying for more than 1 night that someone would attend to the room. Apart from this, the location was good and the staff very helpful."

"We had a wonderful stay in a lovely one bed garden apartment. Well equipped and clean, with a comfy bed, plentiful hot water and a good shower. The grounds and pool are spotless. The property manager is the best we've experienced in our mulitple visits to Australia. We were greeted, out of hours, with a welcoming smile, nothing was too much trouble. "Great old hotel undergoing renovation. Spectacular position looking over the ocean. Bistro menu was a bit expensive but we enjoyed our meals. Rooms were small and compact: ok for a single night. A few things in the room weren’t quite right - like the fridge in the cupboard being iced up because there was insufficient ventilation. Stay while you can before renovations finish and they start charging gastro pub prices. "
