Beautiful private retreat with whimsical and tasteful bear decor. Gorgeous views with lake access. Washer and dryer are welcome bonus. Wish we were able to stay longer.
very homey feeling with excellent host. available for any questions we had and gave ideas for fun weekend. we even "stayed in" because of the comfort! highly recommend
This property is so beautiful, that we ended up having my daughter's senior photos done there, instead of traveling to a different location like we had planned. The hostess was very accommodating, and even provided us with a later check out.
We had a great stay! The kitchen was well stocked and everything was above and beyond! There was also beautiful scenery by the lake. The host was extremely friendly and helpful.
Beautifully appointed private cozy loft apt in a very beautiful area. Wonderful host, great views and many activities in Palmer/Wasilla area to stay a few days. Wish we could have stayed longer.
We had an amazing time here! Great location and we were able to enjoy the lake with her canoe. Rebecca was very responsive and so thoughtful of her guests. I highly recommend staying here.
Good quality furnishings and as advertised. Bed is firm. Hostess is friendly and very responsive. Good views and just the right distance from town. Nice kitchen and w/d
Rebecca made sure our stay was comfortable and so welcoming! This was our first experience of using VRBO and we enjoyed it so much we’re planning on booking with her again. 10/10 recommend her retreat for anybody coming into town!
This was a great little over garage apartment for a quiet anniversary retreat. Highlights included the gas fireplace, a well stocked kitchen (including snacks and cinnamon rolls one morning), and canoeing on the lake.
The night at Story Hill Retreat was the best stay of our trip to Alaska. We felt very welcome, cozy, and Rebecca thought of everything we might need. We took a canoe for a trip out on the lake and even dove in for a swim. The guest house was very clean and tidy and we were able to watch some Netflix and do laundry. Rebecca gave us some recommendations for nearby attractions and the Musk Ox Farm was a hit! We just wish we had booked a second night :)
It is so quiet and tranquil at Stormy Hill. We enjoyed the amazing views on the front porch. Rebecca WAs such a gracious hostess and made us feel so welcomed at her place. Thanks for an amazing time.
This apartment was ideal for us. Quiet and space to walk, swim, and kayak. The weather was cool and rainy but enough sunny days to do everything we wishes to with our family. The owner was the best.
What a view! Quiet space perfect for exploring the area!
Location was perfect for us as we were there for the Arctic winter games. Close to Palmer and Hatcher’s’s pass (beautiful). View from the little kitchen is fabulous.Warm welcome from the host who lives near by and took time to chat. It takes a little practice to figure out when start and stop the fireplace in order to keep an even temperature throughout the night but it is feasible (winter stay).
We enjoyed our stay at Stormy Hill. It was very clean and the bed was comfortable. We appreciated having everything that was at the property including the bottled water in the fridge. The owner brought us homemade hot cinnamon rolls, and they were so delicious. Thank you so much for everything.
This was a wonderful location, close to Anchorage, and easy to also head north, but in a beautiful area of mountains, forests, and lakes and rivers. Property came with everything needed to stay for a long or short visit. Once the fireplace heating issue was resolved after a couple of days, everything worked well. Would stay here again.
