Our Mid-Century Modern home is the perfect getaway with all the conveniences of home with a spacious, private backyard with saltwater pool and spa. The home has 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, a large fully stocked kitchen, dining room and two living areas, plus outdoor dining- everything you need for a relaxing stay.
Located in the Racquet Club Estates, this Alexander home is in one of the premier neighborhoods in Palm Springs, rich with history and midcentury modern architecture. Our renovations retain many of the unique midcentury features of original home now blended with completely updated amenities and comforts for a memorable visit. The main living areas are awash in light and are bright and cheerful, all designed for easy outdoor indoor living. The home is well-appointed with Mid-Century furniture.
The backyard is a true oasis. The oversized yard offers a new saltwater pool and spa and lush desert vegetation - all totally private – everything you need to take in the Palm Springs sun and warmth, with spectacular views of the San Jacinto mountains. You’ll enjoy chaise lounges, shade umbrellas, dining al fresco under the pergola, and seating by the fire. The abundant grapefruit tree provides juicy, delicious fruit and amazing juice, juicer included!
A note about California's new vacation rental fee laws: The only additional fees you will be charged when you book are the City taxes and the fee charged to you and retained by VRBO.
If you wish to have the pool heated, which is optional, there is a per night fee which we handle closer to your arrival when you know what the local temperatures will be.
INSIDE LIVING
Our home is designed to be the ideal desert getaway. Many were built as vacation homes for the Hollywood stars and these iconic Alexander homes have been welcoming people to the desert throughout their history. We welcome all and want you to enjoy and relax.
The original 1,225 square foot home was enlarged many years ago enclosing the breezeway and original carport to house a kitchen and dining room, giving it much more interior living space than the typical Alexander home. The interior living spaces make it easy for spending time with your group or time for yourself. The oversized living space is spacious and bright with two separate but connected seating areas, including a 'den' area with seating and a 55” smart television. There are lots of books in different genres to enjoy during your stay and several board and table games, as well as a ping pong table under the carport.
The living areas and kitchen and dining areas all open to amazing pool and mountain views. The kitchen and dining area include dining for at least six plus two large bar areas with additional seating. The kitchen island is huge –the perfect place for gathering or prepping. The appliances, large and small, are all new. The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking, baking or just warming up something from one of Palm Springs many wonderful restaurants. The abundant ruby red grapefruit tree offers delicious fruit and amazing juice for cocktails by the pool, juicer included! A Meyer lemon tree offers wonderful fruit in late November – December. Please enjoy the fruits if they are ripe.
We wanted to make sure you sleep well...all three bedrooms have plush, super comfy mattresses and fresh, natural cotton bedding. All the bedrooms have large closets. The master bedroom has a king bed, private bathroom with its own door to the pool and backyard. Each of the other bedrooms have queen beds and share the second bath. The bathrooms are updated while retaining their original 1959 footprint. We upgraded the master bath with walk-in shower; it was hard for historic reasons to let go of the 'sunken' tub, but safety and today's preferences made this a good decision.
For convenience, there are small desks in several rooms and Wi-Fi is included and easy to access.
We provide all cotton pool towels and linens. There is a full-sized washer and dryer. The new energy efficient AC and heating system allow you to control the living space to your comfort.
OUTSIDE
As comfortable as the interior spaces are, the yard is the place to be. It is entirely enclosed and gated with wonderful, lush landscaping - all meticulously maintained and designed to have something in bloom throughout the year. The entire space is yours to lounge and enjoy the spectacular Palm Springs sun – and stars. We offer several different spaces to enjoy your time here. The saltwater pool and spa are the high point surrounded with shade umbrellas, chaise lounge, a cozy swing chair, more chairs and side tables. You can enjoy evenings around the fire pit on comfortable seating for a brilliant star show. The patio includes a pergola with seating to enjoy dining al fresco, along with a grill for outdoor cooking.
The pool can be heated for an additional charge which you can decide close to your stay. Pool charges are $60/ night of stay, or $340 for 7 nights: Pool heat is optional.
LOCATION
Our home is just minutes from downtown- with all its shops, boutiques, galleries and a wonderful art museum. The casino, convention center, dance and entertainment are all within a mile or two. The tram is very close to our house and the Palm Springs Air Museum makes an interesting visit to see some vintage aircraft. There are many, many local hikes, including Indian Canyon Lands and Tahquitz Canyon. Albertson’s is just a mile from our home. Right around the corner from our house is a local park. In less than an hour, you can visit in Joshua Tree National Park.

Some city rules to make the visit enjoyable....
Maximum number of overnight guests limited to 2 adults per bedroom + 2 additional children under the age of 12. A list of all overnight guests will be required.
Only 1 car per bedroom is allowed at property, including street parking. License plate numbers for each vehicle will be required at check-in.
Noise City Rules stipulate that guests shall not create excessive noise at a level that disturbs neighbors -inside or outside. Code-enforced quiet hours are from 10:00p.m. – 10:00a.m. What the city requires: There can be no amplified music outdoors at any time. No music may be heard at the property line, regardless of the source.
Noise from voices and pool activities shall be kept to a reasonable level of noise to not impact neighbors. Violations may be subject to eviction and or a fine to the Rental Guest. The best way to handle this, is to listen to the neighborhood and follow that as a guide. Thank you for recognizing that this vacation rental is a private home and respecting our neighbors.
Our home is yours to enjoy for your desert vacation; it is not a party or event house.
Violation of the City ordinance can result in fines upwards of $500 and may result in immediate eviction from property without refund.
All rates quoted are in US dollars. For international guests, please apply the current exchange rate. For longer stays 14 nights or more, we may require an additional cleaning be done mid-way through the stay, we can address this in more detail during booking.
We do not allow pets.
We do not allow smoking anywhere on the property.
