The Cedar Cabin on 8 acres

The soft scent of aged cedar will take you back to a time when life was simple. This cozy cabin has a big picture window that looks out at nature at work.

Welcome to Moon Mountain! The scenery in Washington State is spectacular and Mt. Rainier National Park (The Crown Jewel) is a 15-minute drive to the Stevens Canyon Entrance from Moon Mountain.

Surrounded by the Gifford Pinchot National Forest, a 45-minute drive to Mt. St. Helens National Monument and a 25-minute drive to White Pass Ski Area. Enjoy a two-mountain vacation from our location and see both Mt. Rainier and Mt. St. Helens.

We have three cabin rentals on 8 acres with the most beautiful park-like setting. Each cabin is privately situated with shared common areas; a community firepit, a Koi Pond and big fields to play outdoor games with your family, friends, or your dog.

Each cabin has its own picnic area complete with firepit, lawn chairs and picnic table. Our cabins are equipped with everything you need to enjoy your stay with us. Fully equipped kitchens, linens, bath toiletries, BBQ’s, board games, books, cable TV, DVD player, shared hot tub, and the beautiful outdoors.

Living in the mountains can have challenges that should be expected by guests. In the event of inclement weather, we will do out best to keep the driveways and walkways clear of snow as quickly as possible. In case of a power outage, we have a generator to keep the well pump going so that the cabins will have running water until the power is restored. We do not have a generator to provide electricity to the cabins but each cabin has a wood stove and we will provide firewood in case of a power outage. We do not refund because of acts of nature including storms, air quality from forest fires, etc. that are out of our control. We will do our best to make your stay as comfortable as possible.

Mt Rainier vacation
Cabin was clean and close enough to the town area. Communication with host was easy and pleasant. The cabin was smaller than we thought it would be, especially the bathroom but photos sometimes make things look larger. The outside of the cabin could use a good washing, lots of spider webs and a few in the cabin too. Over all it was an ok place to stay.

This was an amazing place for us to stay. My husband was a bit apprehensive about the shared hot tub but it was a short walk from our cabin and the hot tub was large enough to accommodate 6 people. The cabin smelled of cedar when we walked in the door and everything was perfect. There was everything we could have wanted for our stay. I'd definitely recommend this place to anyone else. The cedar cabin was definitely only for 2 people but a perfect get away for the 2 of us

Labor Day Weekend in Packwood
We were looking for a quiet place where we could relax in-between trips to the Labor Day Packwood Flea Market. This little gem definitely fits the bill. It's about a 5 minute drive from town, but quiet enough to think you are alone in the middle of the woods. The inside was very clean and well appointed. The kitchen had plenty of utensils, pans, seasonings, and even a sharpener to touch up the knife blades. The bed was comfortable, and the bathroom packs a lot of utility into a very small footprint. It is a standup shower, just not a stand-up-and-turn-around shower. The outside could use a broom to knock down the cobwebs, but that kind of lends itself to it's rustic charm. This was a perfect weekend to relax and enjoy everything that Packwood has to offer

Cozy, Peaceful and Charming!!!
Everything we hoped for and more! This is an adorable log cabin. They’ve thought of everything. The property is a lovely park like setting. We enjoyed using the bbq, the picnic table right out our door and on our last night a nice indoor fire in the wood stove. The Stevens Canton entrance to Mt Rainier is nearby. We look forward to our next visit here and will highly recommend Moon Mountain Lodge. Thank you for being an awesome host Debbie!

We enjoyed the hot tub and thought the cabin was very comfortable. We saw 12 Elk wander through the property our last night there. They do want you to clean, recycle, take out garbage and wash dishes.

This is a very special place
The cabin is set on 6 acres and is very shady since it sits on the edge of a wooded area. While there are 2 other rentals plus the owner's house on the property, it is very private and extremely quiet. I never heard the other guests except when I went to the communal hot tub. There was no sound of cars. I did here the wind in the trees, birds, and other sounds of nature. The owner is very responsive to requests. One night the jet of the hot tub would not work and she fixed the problem immediately. Although the kitchen is small, it has everything you need and is thoughtfully laid out to make the most of the space. I always carry a knife sharpener but I did not need it- the knives must have been sharpened right before my stay. The bed was remarkably comfortable with a mattress that felt new- just the right amount of support and no sagging or valleys and hills. The decor of the cabin is charming. It is made of cedar logs, has wooden ceilings, black forest inspired curtains, table clothe and kitchen towels. Forest prints and wood carvings on the walls. There are two long "benches" which give convenient storage and enough hooks to allow not only the towels but any hand washed laundry room to dry. I stayed a week and had a lovely time hiking in the national park, national forest as well as kayaking on mountain lakes. I highly recommend staying at Moon Mountain!

Cozy Cabin
This cabin is just what one thinks of when imagining a cabin close to Mt Rainier. It is warm, cozy and the right size for two people and a dog. It is well separated from the two other rentals on the property which you barely know are there. The large field is perfect for a dog to run and catch balls. It is not fenced so best for a well trained dog. The kitchen is small but with essential items. Bring your favorite herbs and spices. Owners have provided clever ways to store food items and other things in a small space. It's close to lots of hiking trails as well as Mt Rainier NP. Packwood is 3 miles away for restaurants, fuel etc. We would definitely like to stay there again. It was a great get away.

Well supplied kitchen, lovely location, great place.
Our family of 8 met up for the holidays at Moon Mountain. We were delighted to find a decorated real tree in the living room. The Farmhouse was the perfect size for this group. The twin bedroom is off one of the queen bedrooms. The location is excellent for access to White Pass and other outdoor activities. Even with significant snow, road access and walking paths were kept cleared. We enjoyed a snow shoe trek near the river followed by relaxing in the hot tub while snow fell. The Farmhouse is warm inside even in cold weather. We were actually a little too warm when we had a fire. Several times we watched elk wander by outside the windows. We often rent vacation homes and cook and eat together. The kitchen here is perfectly equipped. We were continually overwhelmed by the things available: blender, slow cooker, food processor, any pan you want, and large bowls with lids for food prep, serving and storage. We wish our own kitchens were as well appointed! We always had enough dishes and places to sit and eat. Good wifi, cable, games, books. Our group of ages 10 to 70 never lacked for something to do. Highly recommended!

A White Christmas Getaway
This was the 2nd Christmas that we as a family of 2 married children and 2 kids of their own decided to spend Christmas in snow country in the woods. Moon Mountain is a great spot situated on plenty of grounds to explore. We stayed in the main house and it was delightful and all rooms were very comfortable. The country kitchen was very well supplied! When we arrived, outdoor lighting and even a Christmas Tree all decorated inside greeted us!

We had a wonderful time at the Farmhouse ringing in 2016. The house was very well equipped and beautifully decorated. The peaceful setting and outdoor lighting a treat! The hot tub a treat after the wonderful snow at White Pass. The owner was great to deal with and we plan to return! Thank You!
