What a great time to visit Fiji! We loved the mild weather, although it was still plenty warm to swim. The house was a winner for our family of 5. Everyone had their own space which they really appreciated. The bedrooms were spacious and comfortable. The youngest loved running outside and jumping straight into his own private swimming pool.
Thanks to Richard, Kitty, Sushila, and Raj for their services. They were friendly and helpful and we liked chatting with them. Additionally, the detailed Villa book answered all of our questions about the home and the surrounding area. The neighborhood/community was safe, quiet, and well-maintained and there were excellent dining options.
We enjoyed fresh fruit, curries, and delicious seafood every day. There are two stores within walking distance which made it easy for us to take care of breakfasts and snacks. The nearby Uprising resort has a great beach. They didn't have any problem with us using the beach though we did have one of our meals there first so they knew we weren't just using their facilities for nothing. Their food is a bit on the pricey side and what we had was good but not great. I'll put it this way - some of the best meals we had in Pacific Harbour were also the least expensive. You get a sense pretty quickly which restaurants cater to tourists and those enjoyed by the locals.
In addition to the relaxing beach days, the excursions were a lot of fun. We spent a day in Suva, visited the Colo-i-Suva Forest, and hiked around the Sigatoka Sand Dunes national park. We also loved the Kila Eco-Adventure Park which has a zipline, a ropes course, and a fairly intimidating giant swing. Not for the faint of heart!
Overall, we loved the time we spent in Pacific Harbour. The home felt comfortable and inviting from the moment we arrived. We would definitely enjoy a return trip in the future.
