Quiet vacation house on forested property in Ouray

Enjoy the best of beautiful Ouray and the surrounding wilderness at our vacation house that is within Ouray city limits but sits on a forested lot overlooking the Uncompahgre River. The river, and the river trail, can be accessed at the end of our driveway. The Ouray hot springs pool is a 15 minute walk from our house along the river trail. Our dining room looks out on Gold Hill where snow melt creates a waterfall in spring and early summer. Relax on our front patio in front of a nice fire or light up the bar-b-que and dine outside in the shadow of the San Juan Mountains. Shop and recreate in Ouray and return to a quiet home in the woods where deer often wander through the yard.

Description;

- three comfortable bedrooms sleep 7 people (1 queen upstairs, 1 bunk bed with twin up top and queen underneath upstairs, 1 queen downstairs).

- two bathrooms (upstairs and downstairs)

- washer and dryer

- Roku streaming TV service including Sling TV and Netflix(48' flat screen in living room, 25' in downstairs bedroom) and wireless internet

- coffee maker, Keurig, toaster, microwave

- gas fireplace

- ceiling fans throughout the house

- automatic dishwasher

- Because some of us have severe dog and cat allergies, we do have a strict no-pets policy. Our housekeepers will report any violations and guests will assessed a daily fee retroactive for their stay, plus extra cleaning fees, and fees for any damage the pet may have caused.

Beautiful Mountain Home
We all loved this house! It is close to the center of Ouray but in a quiet location with woods behind and a fabulous view from the front yard. The house was so comfortable and very clean as well. We will definitely book this location again on a future trip to Ouray.

Amazing views and location
We enjoyed our stay at this property. The house has a few items that need fixing (bedroom heater, closet door) and the cleaning crew did miss some things, but all-in-all, the property is as described. The view from the front yard is amazing and it's an easy walk to town. I would recommend staying here.

Quiet and Comfortable
A clean, nice and great location house. The picnic table in the photos has been replaced by a new table with 6 metal chairs with cushions. Great for outdoor dinning. Just relaxing outdoors was very enjoyable. The charcoal grill was great for cooking. The house has everything needed except for a small caveat. Since we spent 2 weeks here we cooked most of our meals and the non stick skillets were so bad even bacon stuck to them. There replacement would make cooking perfect. The garage made it nice to keep our vehicle in.

Comfy, cozy and clean
Nice, well maintained 3bedroom home with ample room to relax after a day exploring and having fun. Just off Main Street with easy access to shopping and restaurants. We had friends staying in a local trailer park. A full sized shower was great at the end of the day. Our stay was wonderful.

Perfect for Jeeping Trip
Friend and I stayed while Jeeping in the San Juans. The house was a perfect base camp for us in terms of location and space. We had everything we needed. We didn't spend much time at the house but wish we did as the property is lovely and view is beautiful! We hope to stay again when we return to Ouray!

Nice place fairly close to town
Besides the heat not working in the downstairs bedroom, the place was great. The property manager was quick to respond and they had space heaters in the garage. Overall, great place and had a blast ice climbing. Would stay here again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in ouray! The home was fantastic! Grill was charcoal which i was not aware of before hand. If it was stated in the listing i missed it. Had to scramble a bit to get to town for the briquettes. One of our friends struggled with the mattress upstairs. Apparently it was a futon mattress and not very comfortable. Other than that, everything was great! Thank you.

Eerything went well as expected. Only reason I did not give it a 5star rating was because of the bed situation. In all honesty, the mattresses are in dire need of replacement. No one in our party got a full night's sleep because of this.

Overall, our stay was very enjoyable. The house is conveniently located to Ouray and is a good hub for other towns, scenic drives and outdoor recreation. The house was clean, relatively well stocked and comfortable. The only issues we had were the broken fixtures in the bathrooms. The master shower was unusable due to a broken part and the upstairs shower leaked badly due to a broken seal. Because of poor cell phone service, we didn’t connect with the owner so we just made the best of it.

We liked the proximity to town, the view from the dining room, the fire pit and that there was a washer/dryer available for use. The road is quiet and the house is relatively private, despite being near other houses. Plenty of driveway space. But the house could use some maintenance, renovations and updating (i.e., the ceiling light in the main upstairs bedroom did not work, even after changing the light bulb; using the toaster and coffee pot at the same time blew a fuse in the kitchen; and the clawfoot tub in the upstairs bathroom is pretty much unusable as a shower).
