"We booked this pub/hotel for a two night stay due to going to a wedding at Hallington Mill a venue approximately 15mins drive away. Arriving on a Friday afternoon we received a lovely friendly welcome and had a evening meal on our first night. We stayed in room 7 a fantastic large bathroom which look brand new. Every member of staff we had dealings with very friendly and helpful. "

"Bowes is perfect for visiting Hadrian’s Wall and the many forts and museums around. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We ate both nights at the Bowes and the food on both nights was very good. The Thai food was delicious and you could tell it was all freshly prepared and cooked. The bed was comfortable and ideal for us after long walks. We would have no hesitation in staying again."

"A decent hotel for a one night stay, clean and comfortable. Room was average sized but did find the bathroom extremely tiny! Breakfast was excellent and was also offered to be served in your room, which was a great way for having a sneaky lie in! "

"I wanted a low budget one night stay. Although property is old fashioned, my single room, with en suite was very clean and bed was comfortable The breakfast cerea,l yogurt etc was an unexpected bonus. Kettle, microwave and fridge in room. Member of staff on arrival friendly and helpful. I couldn’t get the tv to find any chanels, but not there long enough to enquire about it. Could do with a chair, but overall exactly what i wanted Thank you"

"I was taken to the room, which was somewhat cramped with ever-so-slightly grubby duvets and extremely thin pillows. All acceptable problems I was prepared to deal with (as was the remote for the oddly-placed tele being dead, but that's me being picky) and I was even able to accept the fact that the shower had two settings - literally scalding (the red of my hand taking hours to go down) or too cold to use. The real problem came when I was told I could use my key on the rear door at any time, to...
