"Very welcoming. Nice modern room. Very good breakfast. Free parking. Hotel is facing directly onto Berat's main pedestrian mall. Parking is located in back of the hotel, accessed from a perimeter road. Watch for the posted signs to the parking lot. Walkable central location within 10' of Gorica bridge and the road to Berat Castle. The evening passeggiata on the pedestrian mall by the park is a joy. Highly recommend."

"Great hotel for the money, needs painting outside. Some of the waiting staff at breakfast fiddling with their phones and hands in their pockets. Great young girl on reception very friendly and helpful . They shouldn’t try charging customers extra to use the pool not on."

"My friend and I absolutely loved our stay at Merko. From the airport transfer arranged by the hotel manager Rey from Tirana airport to each day we spent at the hotel, our stay wa made very pleasant by Rey (she also advised us re local sightseeing amd travel to other areas) and her staff especially Alaina at reception. The hotel is in a prime location, very peaceful compared to others in the area, in the centre of Berat with food places, local shops, cash exchange etc. it stands right in the centre with gorgeous views and overlooks the river and the castle at the top of the hill. The rooms were very comfortable, clean and modern. We had access to an iron which wa ever helpful. The breakfast is great on the top floor and varied each day. We loved our stay and want to thank Rey and her team for the amazing job that they do as hosts. We will definitely stay at Merko again!"

"Absolutely gorgeous building. It is very well maintained in original decor. We couldnt get over how stunning the place was. Was a couple minutes drive to the restaurants but worth it for us. Very quite location and comfy beda. Our family room was huge and very clean. Lots to choose from for breakfast and very nice family who runs it. Wouls absolutely stay here again. "
