"We had a wonderful time at Waterberg Wildness. We stayed in the Valley Lodge. Note that there are several different lodges all a few km apart. "Beautiful grounds. Pool needs a clean but gardens and loungers and outdoor areas totally delightful with great views. Ideally located for travel from Windhoek to etosha and a nice room. BUT: food awful and both food and drinks overpriced. Great walk from lodge up to the ridge. - 3-4 hour trip and needs some scrambling but fab views. "It's outrageous that Aloegrove has a rating less than 5 stars! If you are driving to Etosha or back from Etosha, stop at Aloegrove, and stay two nights. Aloegrove is a decent drive off the B1, but it is more than worth it. Johan and Ivy have build a marvellous lodge with Comanding views over the surrounding countryside. "The staff were all incredible, from front desk to dinner, all amazing. Loved this little retreat in the country, you can watch animals at the water hole from the private terrace off your room. "The owner was very welcoming, nice poolside area to relax for a few hours. Basic rooms, AC could be better but the shower was amazing. Value here was good and I really appreciated the lovely fruit on offer at breakfast.
