Aparthotel Pension & Restaurant Haus Windhook "Everything is possible, but some things are a bit more difficult."Opa Karl Mittelbach often said that - and his saying lives on in our claim to make everything possible for our guests. Haus Windhook Aparthotel, boarding house and restaurant is now run by the second generation of the Mittelbach family - the third generation is already in the starting blocks, which makes us very proud. In addition to the house Windhook, in which the restaurant and three apartments are housed, the ensemble also includes the Haus Seeblick with five apartments, the Haus Irmi with three apartments and four holiday cottages. The house Irmi was the dacha in GDR times - that was what was called a weekend cottage - by Karl and Irmi Mittelbach. House Irmi is a bit hidden in the dunes. In the three apartments you can be wonderful alone, ideally as a couple. The today's house lake view was built 1995. In the same place stood until shortly before the end of the Second World War, a house, but was burned in the last days of the war of Russian soldiers. If the foundation had not been, you would not have been allowed to build so close to the sea today. Our guests love it because after a few steps you can feel the sand under your feet and on the Dünenkopf you have a wide view over the Baltic Sea. Windhook itself has a long history dating back to the early 19th century. Century enough. The Mittelbach family bought it after the Second World War from the previous owner, a military doctor a. D. with the name Dr. Berg, who had served during the imperial era in the German colonies. After the wall was built in 1961, the house was expropriated, placed under state administration and renamed "Little Captain Brass". The original owners were not even allowed to enter. Only after the reunification, at the end of 1990, was the Mittelbach family able to buy the house with land against many obstacles. After extensive refurbishment, the next generation Mittelbach, Karl and his wife Marita, opened on the 9th. June 1991 her retooled house Windhook as a guesthouse and restaurant. The restaurant soon made a name for its home-style cuisine. Our cottages in the garden of Haus Windhook are ideal for families with small children who want to fulfill their dream of Baltic holidays in their own house. In colorful neighborhood may here go colorful. Each house has its own sunbathing spot in front of the door, a large furnished sun terrace in the dunes is for everyone. In a few minutes you are on the Baltic Sea, whirlpool and sauna are around the corner and the restaurant Windhook in the neighborhood.
