This is a very beautiful apartment an a lovely area of Oslo but there are a few things travelers should be aware of: it is at the top floor of a walk up building (4-5 stories) and so not appropriate for anyone not able or willing to climb a lot of stairs. The apartment has two bedrooms but only one was unlocked for my use and it was very small and had two small twin mattresses on the floor on either side of the room under eaves, really better for kids. I was not expecting that. The beds would be uncomfortable for a tall or large person or anyone who isn’t agile with getting up off the floor. The apartment is on a fairly busy street so there is considerable noise from the tram and the bar downstairs. And due to a lot of fees the apartment in total was much more expensive than i was expecting from the listing on Expedia. It is also clear that this is a true VRBO type of apartment, in that the owner’s personal items are evident in the apartment—shoes, make-up, etc.
The apartment is elegant, spacious, clean, comfortable and well-appointed. It has nice views and big windows. The host communicated well and responded to all of my queries and concerns promptly. She accommodated my late arrival and request to stay an extra day. I enjoyed feeling that I was living in the neighborhood and felt it was a better experience than a hotel for getting to know Oslo. The location is fantastic for food, shopping and transportation.
